Chapter 10 

Juno’s POV

Fang, the legendary warrior who had driven Nathanael Levenston’s nies back?

‘You’re Fang,” I whispered.

A smile tugged at his lips. “I asked Quinn to keep my identify quiet I could have normal conversations without everyone treating me like I might rip their throats out.”

“Why tell me?‘ I asked, genuinely curious.

“Because I’d like us to be friends,” he said simply. And friendship starts with honesty.”

There was something in the way he looked at me that made my wolf Seraphine stir restlessly inside me. Not threatening, but.. intense. Before I could analyze it further, he gestured toward a table hear the center of the room.

“Would you join me for dinner? Luna Scarlett will be there too.”

I followed his gaze and froze. Matthew and Isabelle were already seated at that table. My stomach tightened.

“I’m not sure that’s a good idea,” I said, taking a step back.

Kieran’s hand touched my elbow lightly. “They won’t bother you. I promise.” 

His confidence was reassuring, and something rebellious stirred inside me. Why should I avoid a table just because my husband and his fated mate were there? I nodded and followed him.

Matthew’s eyes narrowed as I approached. The sharp scent of jealousy hit me before I even sat down. Isabelle sat pressed against his side, her hand possessively on his arm, but Matthew’s attention was locked on me.

Kieran pulled out my chair and then took the seat beside me, reaching for a bottle of red wine.

“May I?” he asked, holding the bottle toward my glass. 

I nodded, purposely not looking at Matthew.

“Thank you, Kieran,” I said, using his first name with deliberate familiarity.

Matthew’s jaw clenched so hard I could hear his teeth grinding. The tension at the table was suffocating.

“We’re so glad you could join us, Luna Juno,” Isabelle said, her voice dripping with sweetness.

I smiled tightly. “Just Juno is fine.” 

“You’ll always be Luna to our pack,” Matthew cut in.

Kieran raised an eyebrow. “Juno seems perfectly capable of deciding what she prefers to be called.”

Matthew’s eyes flashed dangerously, a hint of yellow bleeding into the brown. I could feel Seraphine responding to the challenge in the air, my heartbeat quickening.

The dinner progressed with strained conversation. Each time Kieran leaned close to speak to me, Matthew’s scent grew more bitter

Chapter 10. 

With rage, Isabelle kept Trying to recapture his attention, but his eye rarely left me.

Finally, Matthew stood abruptly. “We’re leaving.”

Isabelle Immediately rose. Of course, darling.”

“Juho, Matthew said, his voice leaving no room for argument. Let’s to.

1 set my wine glass down. I’m not ready to leave,

“It wasn’t a request,” he growled.

I felt everyone at the table watching us. My face burned, but I kepty voice steady. “Did you forget? It seems like we didn’t come together, so there’s no need to go back together, right? I’m enjoying myself. I’ll come home later.”

Matthew leaned over the table, his voice dropping to a harsh whisper “Are you going to become like Freya and Scarlett? Passing yourself around to whoever shows interest?”

The insult hit like a slap to the face. Before I could respond, Kieran spoke, his voice deadly calm.

“You will not speak to women that way at my table, Alpha Matthew.

The tension crackled as more people joined us–Quinn and Maddox slid into seats, both glaring at me like I was something foul.

“Where is Freya tonight?” Quinn asked, his tone accusatory.

Scarlett, who had just arrived, laughed bitterly. “Probably enjoying her freedom from you.”

Maddox half–rose, a growl building in his chest, but Kieran merely raised his hand. The simple gesture radiated so much power that everyone immediately stilled.

“Enough,” he said quietly.

Isabelle suddenly swayed, pressing a hand to her stomach. “Matthew I don’t feel well.”
