Streaks of blood mixed with red wine dripped down Benson’s face. 

He gaped in shock, his eyes wide open. “Who are you? How dare you create a scene at the Gaskal family engagement banquet!” 

Oliver had never been seen in public, and since he’d used the unlimited bidding, I hadn’t even gotten a clear photo of him. 

Oliver’s tall figure stood protectively in front of me, his striking and sharp features just a few centimeters away. 

My eyelids fluttered unexpectedly, and my heart skipped a beat. 

His deep eyes glanced down to see if I was hurt. 

My swollen, reddened fingers rested weakly on his arm, and I noticed his expression suddenly darken. 

I shot him a look, signaling him to stay calm, then turned to face the yelling Benson with an icy expression. 

“Benson, is the Gaskal family done acting insane?” I scolded. 

“I told you the engagement banquet wasn’t open to you. Crashing in uninvited and causing a scene–is this the ‘aristocrat etiquette‘ of your so- called noble lineage?” 

The Gaskal family claimed to be descendants of a medieval royal line, always bragging about their “princely ancestors” and acting superior. 

When I was still enamored with Benson, I even went out of my way to have someone investigate their history.

“Who’s making a scene at my event–Robert Kimbere’s turf?!” 

Dad’s angry voice echoed through the room, and the crowd automatically cleared a path for him. 

Maria remained standing defiantly with her hands on her hips, rolling her eyes and scoffing. 

“Hmph, with such poor manners, you have the audacity to think you could be in–laws with the Gaskal family? Look at the disgraceful woman you’ve raised! Bringing a lover to her own engagement party!” 

Henry added, “Exactly! Even if you offered the entire Kimbere Group to us, I’d still hesitate to accept her as my daughter–in–law!” 

I chuckled at the Gaskal family’s audacity, my anger transforming into 

amusement. 

With my chin held high, I scoffed and slapped an invitation letter against Benson’s face. 

“Take a good look and see who my fiancé really is, Benson!” 

He took it with a dismissive grunt. “Still pretending, are you…”

But the moment he opened the invitation, he froze. “This can’t be true!” 

His face turned pale as he forced a smile at my father. “Mr. Kimbere, why would you let Bailey scribble random names on this invitation?” 

Dad paid no attention to him and signaled his assistant, who pulled back the stage curtain to reveal the prearranged words, Jombel and Kimbere Union. 

Camera flashes burst, and the guests descended into a frenzy. 

J’Oh my god! Ms. Kimbere’s fiancé is the mysterious new richest man, Oliver Jombel!” 

“No wonder they kept it under wraps! The union of the current and former wealthiest families–wh

“But what about that footage of Bailey bowing to the Gaskal family earlier?” 

At that moment, Melisa’s scream cut through the air.

Oliver’s bodyguards caught Melisa as she attempted to escape amidst the chaos and brought her before me. 

His eyes reflected unmasked heartache as he looked at me.

Tears filled my eyes as the grievances from my past and the day before surged up.

As soon as those words were uttered, it was like a drop of water hitting hot oil. The room exploded into chaos. 

“Hold on, so the Gaskal family were the delusional ones all along? Benson kept insisting that Ms. Kimbere used his name to make unlimited bids to push for a marriage, but it turns out he was orchestrating this whole charade? This is absurdly funny!”

‘concubines‘? Are they out of their minds? And isn’t Melisa his adopted sister? This is completely twisted. So disgusting!” 

“B–Bailey, this can’t be real… Stop messing with me. 

Benson, looking as if he’d seen a ghost, reached out to grab me, but Oliver pushed him aside forcefully. 

Benson’s gaze landed on the griffin ruby brooch pinned to Oliver’s chest, causing his eyes to widen in shock.
