In the following days, Alpha Jason stayed holed up in the mansion, recovering from his wounds. I was the only one left to take care of him. 

I dragged him into watching TV shows with me. As I sobbed uncontrollably over the love story between the main couple, Alpha Jason sat there, his face emotionless, but tears slipping silently down his face. 

I could feel his pain, like it was my own. 

Every time I left his room, he kissed my neck, marking me with a trail of little hickeys, and his underlings would joke and laugh, nudging each other. 

One night, as I showered, I started to touch

Suddenly, a rough hand gripped my face, pulling me from my thoughts. “Stop,” Alpha Jason growled, “Enough.” 

I bit my lip, nodding. 

He had warned me before. 

One day, I dared ask, “Alpha Jason, what if I get a boyfriend? What if we kiss? What will you do then? Be a part of it too?” 

His eyes darkened, and without missing a beat, he replied, “I’ll kill you and feed you to the wolves. And your boyfriend? I’ll feed him to the dogs.” 

“You’re terrifying.”

“What about you? Are you going to stay single too?” 

He stared at me with a fire in his eyes. “I will. For now.” 

“Good. That’s acceptable.” 

I nodded, satisfied, and leaned in, planting a small hickey on his neck. “Alpha Jason, you need to live. You can’t die.” 

He didn’t respond, just patted my head absentmindedly before turning away. 

Then, one day, a car screeched to a halt outside.

A figure burst into the mansion, urgency in their every step. “Irina is awake!” they announced, eyes wide. 

The wolves surrounding us froze. 

Irina. The former female alpha. The one who had been a thorn in Alpha Jason’s side for years. 

“You have to go, Jason’s voice was firm as he grabbed my arm, pulling me into his room. “Kamelia, get dressed. We need to leave. Now!”

“What do you mean, leave? What’s going on?” I clutched at his sleeve. “What about you?” 

Jason’s eyes were dark, unfathomable. “I have my own business to attend to. You won’t be safe here.”

“You’ll be fine,” he said, but there was a warning in his tone. “Trust no one.” 

Before I could argue, he was gone, disappearing into the shadows with his underlings. 

A few moments later, someone came to fetch me. “We need to get you out of here,” they said urgently. “Go to the supermarket. Don’t be seen. We’ll meet you there.” 

I had no choice but to obey.

But as I walked to the store, everything around me felt wrong. I was being watched. Followed. 

Suddenly, strangers emerged from the darkness, surrounding me. Their eyes glowed with the unmistakable shimmer of

wolves. I was pulled into the shadows. 

Everything went black. 

When I woke, I was back in the mansion. But this time, I was bound to a chair, unable to 

move. 

Alpha Jason was standing opposite me, face–to–face with Irina. His eyes were hard as stone. 

“Let her go,” Jason’s voice was low. 

Irina, standing with a group of her own wolves, sneered. “She’s not going anywhere.” 

I let out a nervous laugh, trying to mask the fear that gripped my chest. 

Jason’s gaze flicked to me, a brief flicker of emotion crossing his features. A smile, a

growl, it was all the same. He was Alpha. He didn’t show weakness. 

Irina, however, seemed to thrive on it. “You’re his weakness, aren’t you, Kamelia?” 

The wolves behind her snarled, circling. I swallowed hard, heart racing. 

But I refused to let my fear show. Not in front of Alpha Jason. 

I laughed again, this time louder. “You’ll have to do better than that to scare me.” 

Jason’s lips quirked into a brief smile.
