Chapter 21
The sound of brakes cut through the rain curtain.
Jason staggered back two steps, and the umbrella rolled into the traffic, crushed into a twisted skeleton.
The freezing rain trickled down the chin and into the collar of the shirt, while the gray corner of the garment disappeared into the subway across
the street.
Jason bumped into a passerby holding hot coffee, the blue light from the electronic screen exploded in his pupils, and the escalator carried countless blurry faces towards him.
Jason looked around anxiously, the light in his eyes gradually fading to darkness. Just as he was about to give up, a cluster of white light suddenly lit up at the end of the escalator – a woman’s pale fingers were resting on the handle of a black umbrella, the colorful bracelet on her wrist emitting a dazzling light, instantly illuminating the darkness in Jason’s eyes.
“Excuse me! The worker carrying goods brushed past his shoulder, while the woman with a child squeezed past him.”
Jason struggled to push through the crowd and finally caught sight of Carla’s face.
The halo of light from the lamp flowed over her falling bangs, the light red lipstick covered her original lip color, but her eyes still shone brightly like stars. The wind raised the hem of her coat as the subway passed by, and as the subway announcement sounded, the woman also stepped into the subway.
Jason instinctively wanted to chase in, but the next moment the subway sounded the closing door alarm, and then the subway door closed tightly in front of him.
The subway roared past Jason and carried away all his thoughts, leaving him standing like a statue, motionless and lost in his own world.
However, Jason’s heart was like extremely poor soil, suddenly bursting with brightly blooming flowers.
He once again felt his heart, which had been silent for many days, come. alive and start beating again.
Although he didn’t catch up with Carla, his heart was extremely excited.
If before going abroad he still held doubts about Kate, now Jason has to admit the truthfulness of Kate’s words.
Carla is alive!
Carla was still alive!
Carla is actually still alive, she didn’t die!
Jason hurried out of the subway and jumped into the car parked on the side of the road, then he said to the driver in front.
“Go to the Collins family, hurry up!”
At the same time, Carla on the subway turned pale, her hands tightly clenched.
She heard it, she had just heard a very familiar voice.
That voice had appeared when she committed suicide in the previous life, and also when she had the car accident this time. Carla had heard it many times when she was in danger.
But Carla did not want to hear Jason’s voice again at that moment.
After all, their relationship had already come to a complete end, and she had no desire to see Jason again.
Carla didn’t know where Jason had heard the news that she was still alive, but his appearance was a bad thing for Carla.
Thinking of this, Carla quickly called Jessica at the old house.
“Aunt, Jason came looking for me, he even knew I was alive.”
Carla just came out to hang out with friends, but she didn’t expect to be seen by Jason.
If she had known earlier, she should have just stayed honestly in the old house.
Just one short sentence made Jessica on the other end of the phone pause for a moment before she spoke.
“Don’t worry, with me here, I won’t let Jason find you.”
Carla nodded and continued, “So I won’t be coming back in the next few days. Please tell my parents and grandfather for me.”
Since Carla has been exposed, she should not stay in France, in Paris
anymore.
Jessica hung up the phone after she had reminded her to be careful.
After Carla got off the subway, she took a taxi directly to the airport.
“Hello, I wanted to buy a ticket to Canada.”
Carla quickly headed to the airport with her purchased ticket.
After getting off the car, Jason hurriedly walked towards the Collins

family.
The way the family treated Jason during the visit remained the same as they did with Brody last time.
“Jason, even if you want to lie, at least make up a more believable story. You keep insisting that Carla is still alive, that you saw her with your own eyes under the subway in Paris. Where is the evidence? Where is the proof?”
Jessica took a sip of the tea in front of her, her tone full of sarcasm.
Jason’s expression changed slightly, only then did he remember that he had been too anxious and had forgotten to take a picture, but fortunately he had the photo his daughter had sent him.
“Believe it or not, Carla is alive, that’s a fact.”
