Mr. Cinderella - Chapter (9)
Ch. TO GO 9 TO GO 9
Chapter 9
I stared at him coldly “We’re already divorced. You’re the one who can’t face reality.”
Grayson shook his head: “Don’t try to bullshit me. I never signed anything–how could we possibly be divorced?”
Of course he’d forgotten.
I reminded him: “You forgot about that divorce agreement we both signed as insurance for each other.”
Grayson’s whole body went rigid as it finally came back to him.
Yeah, we really had done that.
Now he finally believed it was real.
He stopped arguing and grabbed my hands, desperate: “There’s really nothing between Ivy and me.”
If it bothers you that much, I’ll keep my distance from her, alright?”
‘Celeste, we’ve been married for years–we’re family. Are you seriously going to throw all that away over something this small?”
Neither of us had much family left.
So when we’d gotten together and built our life, we’d meant everything to each other.
But now we were splitting up.
And he still thought what I’d been through was just “something small.”
Rome wasn’t built in a day, and it didn’t fall in a day either.
I was leaving because I’d hit my breaking point.
I wanted to live the life I deserved.
When I didn’t respond, Grayson pulled me into the bedroom.
The desk was covered with watches: “Everything I said before–I was just pissed off.”
‘I know you were upset about the watch thing, so I bought you tons of them. I was waiting for you to come home so I could surprise you.”
‘Do you like them?”
Meeting his hopeful gaze, I shook my head: “Let’s just end this on good terms.”
ignored his pleading and begging, packed my things, and left.
But Grayson didn’t give up.
He tracked down my new office.
Day one: flowers delivered.
Day two: homemade breakfast.
Day three standing outside with a banner, declaring his love.
My new coworkers who didn’t know the backstory were all jealous that I had such a handsome guy chasing me.
Only my team looked worried: “Boss, you worked so hard to escape that mess–don’t jump back in!”

“Yeah, Grayson’s only trying to win you back because he needs something from you.”
“I heard from our old coworkers that after we left, their revenue dropped by 80%.”
“I bet Grayson’s panicking and trying to get us back to fix his problems.”
“He doesn’t love you–he’s just using you!”
Listening to them. I smiled and nodded, assuring them I wouldn’t fall for Grayson’s tricks twice.
1 ignored all his gifts and pretended not to see his grand gestures.
For two weeks straight, Grayson kept ambushing me outside work, making my life miserable.
Finally, there was one day he didn’t show up. I was planning to go out and relax for once when I spotted him arm–in–arm with Ivy, happily strolling through the supermarket like they were on a date.
I tried to sneak away without being noticed, but he spotted me anyway.
