Chapter 7 

“You said at the class reunion that you were just friends with me, and when you saw Madilyn 

kiss me, you didn’t react at all. You even told me to take care of her… Carie, I am your 

boyfriend, why did you push me away?” 

Carissa remained silent for a few seconds. 

Just when she wanted to lay everything out and explain it all clearly. 

There suddenly came a scream from Madilyn’in the bedroom. 

Warren’s face changed instantly, and he pushed the door open without hesitation. 

Madilyn, who was curled up in bed, ran down barefoot and stumbled into his arms. 

“That pervert came to catch me, Warren. I was so scared. Please don’t leave me alone. Can you 

stay with me?” 

Before the words had even finished, Warren scooped her up in his arms, his voice gentle. 

“Don’t be afraid, I’m here. No one can harm you, I will never leave you…” 

Madilyn lay on Warren’s shoulder, her gaze towards Carissa filled with provocation, showing 

no signs of just being drunk. 

So, Warren, this is the answer. 

It was never me who pushed you towards someone else, but it was you who chose Madilyn 

voluntarily.

Warren stayed with Madilyn all night. 

Carissa didn’t pay attention either. 

Emma finished work early and will probably be able to come back to her country to see her in two days.

The next morning, when Carissa was having breakfast, she discovered that Warren had left his 

phone on the dining table.

the door of the master bedroom.

“Ms. Solomon, Warren took care of me all night last night and he hasn’t woken up yet, so it’s better not to disturb him for now.” 

She spoke and tugged at her collar, revealing the faint red marks on her neck. 

Carissa calmly handed the phone to her. 

“Okay, then you remember to give him the phone.” 

After speaking, she turned around and was about to leave, but was pulled back by Madilyn. 

“How thick–skinned are you? Warren doesn’t love you at all. Truth be told, not only have we taken wedding photos, but we have also already obtained the marriage certificate. I am now his true wife in every sense. So you better get out of our house right away!” 

As the words fell, a sound came from inside the house, and Madilyn suddenly changed her face, pleading in fear.
