Chapter 24 

I fluttered my eyes open to find myself looking up at a light green ceiling, making my heart thump in surprise. Where am I? I looked around, trying to blink the sleepiness out of my eyes. It took me a few moments to remember that I didn’t live at home anymore. I moved into Damien’s house after what Dana had orchestrated. Oh, god, I killed her! 

Suddenly the memories of the night before flooded into my head all at once, making my 

heart thump menacingly. First I was poisoned, then I was nearly raped and killed. 

Thank god for Damien… oh my god… we had sex! As if on cue, my body started to ache, remembering how rough he was last night. Or rather, this morning. But only because I encouraged him to be. I pulled back the cover, and saw a few drops of blood on the otherwise white sheets, showing that I had indeed lost my virginity. 

“Kitten, what are you doing?” Damien’s voice said from across the room. I looked up to find him standing in the doorway, holding a tray, wearing nothing but a pair of sweatpants. I’ve never seen Damien in anything other than a suit, except for the shower we shared, as well as this morning. He’s sexy in a suit obviously, but him in sweats is comparable to nothing else. 

I looked down, trying to hold my blush as I covered myself with the comforter. “Nothing, what time is it?“. 

“Nearly six–thirty. You should get more sleep, you’ve only had about three hours.” He responded, setting down the tray on the table next to me. 

“Why are you bringing me food if you expected me to sleep longer?” I asked as I took a piece of bacon and went to the closet to get dressed. 

“Because I knew you would be waking up soon, and you need to eat just as much as you need to sleep.” He responded, turning his back to me. “Come here.” He said, after I’d finished dressing. 

I did as he told me, and sat on the bed, looking up at him curiously. “How are you feeling?” He asked me, pulling me into his lap. 

“I’m okay. I responded slowly. 

He nodded and kissed me softly, wrapping his arms around my waist. “Ask me what you

want to ask me, little one.” 

“How do you always know?” 

“Because you get this cute little wrinkle, right here.” He said as he touched the spot 

between my eyebrows, then smiled softly.

“You turned around while I was dressing, even though you saw me naked a few hours ago, why?” I asked him as I reached towards the plate of food and grabbed another piece of bacon. When I reached over again, I had nearly fallen off the bed, and would have if it wasn’t for his quick reflexes. 

“It is still your body, little kitten. If I have the permission to look, you’ll give it to me.” He said with a chuckle as he grabbed the tray and set it next to me, so I didn’t have to keep reaching. 

“But you were looking when I was wearing the skirt.” 

“You weren’t naked then. I saw the amount of skin you allowed me to see.” 

I wiped my hands on the towel placed on the tray, before putting my arms around him, and kissing him hard. He responded with a groan as he kissed me back, putting his arms around my hips, pulling me back to him. I took off my tank–top and leaned back, so I could look at him. He looked at me curiously, wondering why I had done that. I wanted to see if he would look into my eyes, rather than at my bare breasts, only inches from his chest. But of course he didn’t even so much as glance at my chest, but kept his eyes locked on mine. He grinned at me when he realized what I was doing, then closed his eyes and shook his head. 

“Why are you testing me?” 

“Curiosity.” I said with a shrug. “When do you need to leave for work?” 

“I’m usually there by eight.” He said as he looked at his watch “It’s about seven now, but it’s only a fifteen–minute drive.” 

“So I should shower and eat, before we have to go.” I said as I climbed off his lap and pulled the tray to me, then started eating. 

“What do you mean, we? You need to sleep, Bast.” He responded, taking a piece of bacon

“I don’t want to be alone right now.” I whispered as I set down the tray back on the 

bedside table.
