The Divorced Abandoned Luna - Chapter 0150
Ch. Chapter 160 At the Divorce Papers on my Lap Ch 160
Chapter 251
Not wasting any time, I moved across the plush carpet and out of my office. I walked down the hallway toward Damien’s office.
“Is my brother in?” I asked his assistant when I reached his floor.
“Yes, Alpha. He’s still inside.”
I nodded at her and walked into my brother’s office, noting this was yet another new assistant. Damien went through assistants at an alarming rate. I blamed it on the fact that he was still our pack’s–no, the entire city’s–notorious womanizer. He slept with countless she–wolves, and once they started getting attached, he would cut them out of his life.
“Sebastian…”
“What happened to the last one?” I asked, knowing I didn’t need to elaborate. “That’s the fourth assistant you’ve had this month.”
“Well, it’s not my fault they expect declarations of love and claiming after a night or two in bed,” he grinned, that smile I knew so well, the one that attracted women like flies to honey.
Shaking my head, I stared at my brother, wondering if there was a she–wolf out there who could truly tame him. “You really should stop mixing your personal life with Pack business.”
“Now where’s the fun in that?” he shrugged, and I sighed, knowing he wouldn’t stop, and I was certain most single she–wolves with positions in the pack who hadn’t found their mates had slept with him, except for my senior financial advisor and former liaison, especially the latter–he despised her, though I hadn’t understood why at first.
“So what brings you to my office?”
“I don’t really want to go home,” I answered, avoiding his gaze.
“That’s shocking… why? I thought things were going well with you and Thea.”
“Yeah…” I trailed off.
Well, yes, everything was fine until she came back from visiting Kane in prison. I didn’t know what happened or what he told her, but since then Thea had been looking at me with suspicious eyes. Every time I did something, said something, kissed her, held her, even the most trivial things, that suspicion in her eyes made me uneasy.
“I think Kane might have said something to her; she’s been acting strange lately. It started a week ago after she visited Kane in prison. Or maybe something happened between them, and she’s wondering why she’s with me and not with him.”
“She loves you,‘ Damien tried to reassure me, but it didn’t help.
“But for how long? What happens when she gets her memories back and realizes she already killed and buried her love for me?”
My insecurity was on full display, but I didn’t care. Besides worrying about her safety, I was concerned about the day she regained her memories. I was too fucking scared to admit how terrified I was of losing her.
The past month and a half had been fucking amazing. She’d brightened my world in ways I never thought possible, making me realize what a fool I’d been for always rejecting her.
Kissing her, waking up beside her, holding her, having our late–night conversations, having Leo and Phoenix–it was everything I didn’t know I needed, but now I couldn’t imagine living without.
I wanted everything with her. I wanted all the things I’d denied myself and her throughout our marriage. I wanted a future with her. I wanted to marry her again, claim her, expand our family. I wanted to watch our pups grow up and support her every step of the way. I wanted a happy ending with her, and I wanted to spend many years with her, just like my parents did with each other.
“You’re overreacting. I’m sure it’s nothing,” he assured firmly.
I sighed, exhausted. “If you think so, then why don’t you come home for dinner? You can see for yourself that I’m not overreacting like you say.”
“Fine.”
I smirked, and we both stood up. I just hoped Thea wouldn’t be angry that I’d invited Damien. After all, while he as Gamma had never been hostile toward her, he hadn’t
exactly been welcoming either.
