Chapter 63

The training ground behind the Shadow Pack‘ s packhouse buzzed with energy. Amelia stood at the center, her hair pulled back into a sleek braid, her eyes glowing faintly as her Rising Moon bloodline coursed through her veins. Across from her, Logan watched her with a smirk, his arms crossed over his chest.

“You’ve gotten stronger,” he said, his deep voice filled with pride. “But don‘ t think for a second I’m going easy on you.”

Amelia rolled her shoulders, her lips curving into a confident smile. “I wouldn’t want you to.”

With a swift movement, Logan lunged at her, his claws extending midair. Amelia dodged gracefully, her movements fluid and precise. She countered with a quick strike, her strength enhanced by her stabilized bloodline. The two danced in combat, their strikes powerful but controlled.

“Impressive,” Logan commented as he blocked a blow. “You‘ re faster than before.”

“Is that surprise I hear, Alpha?” Amelia teased, her voice light despite the intensity of their sparring.

Logan chuckled, his amber eyes flashing. “Not surprise. Admiration.”

The sound of their laughter echoed across. the training ground as they continued their practice. For Amelia, each movement was a step closer to mastering her newfound power, a step closer to avenging her family. And for Logan, it was a chance to support his mate in her quest.

Finally, they stopped, both panting lightly but smiling. Logan reached out, brushing a strand of hair from Amelia’s face.

“We’ll find him, Amelia,” he promised, his voice firm. “Whoever slaughtered your family, we’ll make him pay.”

Her smile faltered slightly, determination hardening her features. “We will,” she said softly.

Later that evening, as the moon hung high in the sky, Amelia sat in the packhouse‘ s library, lost in thought. The silence was broken by the soft chime of her phone. She glanced at the screen and froze when she saw Aunt Camille‘ s name.

The message was brief but filled with emotion.

Aunt:

[I’m ill, Amelia. Badly. I don’t think I have much time left. Please, come see me. I want to see you one last time.]

Amelia’s chest tightened. Camille had been the only family she had left after her parents‘ deaths, the one person who had tried to shield her from the cruelty of the Lotus Pack. No matter what had happened, she couldn’t ignore this plea.

She rose to her feet and headed toward Logan’s office, her mind racing.

Meanwhile, Logan looked up as his Luna entered, his face lighting up at the sight of her. But his expression shifted when he noticed the worry etched across her features.

“What’s wrong?” he asked, standing and crossing the room to her.

“I got a message from my Aunt,” she said, handing him her phone. “She‘ sill… really ill. She says she doesn’t have much time left and wants to see me.”

Logan’s jaw tightened as he read the message. “Are you planning to go?”

“Yes,” Amelia replied, her voice steady.

Logan nodded, though concern flickered in his eyes. “Then I’m coming with you.”

Amelia shook her head, placing a hand on his chest. “It’s okay, Logan. I’ll be meeting my old aunt. There’s no danger.”

His brow furrowed. “Amelia, you know I trust your strength, but we can’t underestimate-”

“I’ve fully unleashed my powers,” she interrupted, her tone reassuring. “Nobody can harm me now. Besides, Aunt deserves to see me without any pack politics or tension. This is personal.”

Logan hesitated, his protective instincts. warring with his understanding of her independence. Finally, he sighed and pulled her into a tight embrace. “Promise me you’ll be careful.”

“I promise,” she murmured, her arms wrapping around him.

He kissed the top of her head before letting her go. “If anything happens, mindlink me immediately. I’ll be there in seconds.”
