Chapter 68

Amelia walked into the Shadow Pack‘ s grand hall, her face pale and her steps heavy. The revelations from her visit to Aunt Camille swirled in her mind, cach word cutting deeper than the last. Her heart ached with grief, anger, and a renewed thirst for revenge.

Alpha Logan noticed her the moment she entered, his keen eyes catching the storm brewing within her. He crossed the room in swift strides, cupping her face gently.

“Amelia, what’s wrong? Did something happen?”

She nodded, her throat tightening as she struggled to find the words. “Logan, it hurts,” she whispered, her voice trembling.

He guided her to the large, cushioned sofa in their private quarters, never letting go of her hand. “Take your time, my love, I’m here.”

Amelia took a shaky breath, her gaze meeting his steady one. “I visited Aunt Camille. She… she confessed something I never expected. Something about my parents.

Logan’s jaw tensed. “What did she say?”

Amelia’s voice cracked as she began.

“My parents didn’t die because they were targeted for who they were. They… they were killed because of a mistake. A terrible, senseless mistake.”

Logan’s brows furrowed. “A mistake? What kind of mistake?”

“They were on vacation, staying at a villa,” Amelia explained, her voice thick with emotion. “Next door, Aunt Camille and her Alpha, Caleb, were staying with their children. The Rogue King… he came for them. But he went to the wrong villa. He thought my parents were Aunt Camille and Alpha Caleb. And he… he killed them.”

Upon hearing the truth, Logan’s grip on her hand tightened, his eyes darkening with anger.

Tears streamed down her cheeks as she continued, her voice breaking. “Aunt Camille knew. She knew all along and kept it from me. My parents died for nothing, Logan. Nothing!”

Amelia‘ s sobs shook her frame, and Logan immediately pulled her into his arms. He held her close, his embrace strong and unwavering. “Amelia,” he murmured against her hair, “hush, love. We’re going to make him pay, okay? They won’t die in vain. We will slaughter the rogues back, and will make them pay triple the price.”

She buried her face in his chest, her tears soaking into his shirt. “Fuck… I don’t know what to do anymore. That monster killed them, and Aunt Camille’s silence allowed me to live in ignorance for years.

“I’m here, I’m here,” he assured her, stroking her back. “We’ll seek revenge, Amelia. I promise you, we’ll make the Rogue King pay for what he’s done. He won’t escape the consequences of his actions.”

Right then and there, Amelia pulled back slightly, her tear–streaked face fierce with determination. “I want to take him down, Logan. I want to destroy him and everything he stands for. He needs to know what it feels like to lose everything.

Without hesitation, Logan nodded, his expression equally resolute. “Then we’ll start preparing. Together.”

And what the Alpha said was nothing but the truth, because days later they sat together, ready to plan things out. Finally, Logan spoke again. “We need to draw him out. A powerful rogue like him won’t show his face unless he feels threatened or tempted.”

Amelia bit her lower lip and nodded.

“What are you thinking?”

Logan leaned forward, his voice low and strategic. “We spread the word. Let the world know that the Rising Moon bloodline still exists–and that it’s stronger than ever in the Shadow Pack.”
