When I came to the police station to help with the investigation, my father slapped me hard on the face. 

You despicable creature! How dare you hit my precious daughter! How could you be so 

cruel! 

Seeing Lucy hiding behind my father with triumphant smiles on her tear–streaked face, I didn’t waste any time and swung back two slaps across her face. 

He slapped me once, I slapped his darling daughter twice in return. I thought that was fair. 

Look closely, your darling daughter is the truly vile one. She’s a murderer! 

As Lucy cried out in a hypocritical display of hurt, my father’s anger erupted. He charged at me, intending to hit me again but was stopped by the police and berated. 

My mother’s gaze turned icy, Kay, how could you talk about your sister like that Look, you’ve made her cry. Apologize to Lucy right now. 

I looked at her icily and retorted, Apologize Is it wrong to hit such a hypocritical, selfish and vicious murderer like her 

Lucy dived back into my father’s arms, crying, Wah… Mom, Dad, I’m not a murderer. I told them in my statement, that guy bullied me, and I fought back. Without considering the whole story, sister helped an outsider and hit me, even reporting me to the police. Lucy is the real victim, wah… 

At Lucy’s meltdown, my parents were once again swamped with sympathy for her. 

So, crying legitimized everything 

See, Lucy said it was the guy who bullied her. She was defending herself. It serves him right to be hit. You ungrateful wretch, you even helped an outsider hit your sister! 

Self–defence 

I couldn’t help but marvel at how easy it was for Lucy to lie. Relying on the fact that there was no surveillance and no eyewitnesses in that alley, she cooked–up a story pretty effortlessly. 

My biological parents believed everything that Lucy said without questioning.

Lucy didn’t expect me to have evidence. She shrieked and pounced on me, trying to steal my phone. 

But police officers aren’t fools. She was trying to destroy the evidence

The steel rod I had kicked away also had Lucy’s fingerprints on it.

Lucy berated those delinquents, then began crying to my parents again, saying Nia had bullied her, and that’s why she hired people to teach him a lesson. 

My mother instantly declared that she would investigate Nia’s responsibility. 

She wholeheartedly believed Lucy’s claim that Nia had bullied her. 

My father cursed me bitterly, as though I was his sworn enemy.
