Rose’s POV 

“You smell so good.” 

The moment those words left my mouth, I froze and jumped out of his arms like I’d been burned by fire. 

“Why, thank you,” he smirked. 

I facepalmed, my cheeks red with embarrassment as I wished the ground would pave way so I could get out of this situation. 

“I’m sorry, I wasn’t thinking,” I blurted.

“What are you doing here this late?” I asked him. 

“I came to see you, Princess.” 

The way he called me “Princess” made my heartbeat increase. I frowned inwardly,

He nodded, “Yes, we’re supposed to talk strategy.” 

“Oh!” I exclaimed, as it clicked. 

“Yeah, of course. Should we go inside to discuss?” I asked him. 

He looked around the garden and shook his head, “This place is actually perfect. Let’s just sit over there, let me show you what I have.” 

We headed over to the swinging bench my father had added to the garden and sat down. The bench swung, causing us to draw closer and I bumped into his chest.

He brought out the laptop I didn’t realize he had been holding with how he had caught me so smoothly earlier and his arms wrapped around my waist –

“So here’s the dirt I found out on Judge Harris,” he said, showing me the laptop.

“A drink,” he said, cool as ever.
