When Love Sets Sail - Chapter 07
Ch. Love Leaving the Port 7 Love Leaving the Port 7
I shook my head firmly, “Ethan, I don’t care
about you and Jenny. I have a new life here,
and I won’t go back. Leave.”
“What new life! You!…”
Exhausted and blood loss from the tattoo, he
fainted.
He woke up at 11 PM.
Seeing a glass of water, he happily left the
room, ignoring his discomfort to find me.
On the rooftop, he saw me kissing Liam.
His heart constricted!
He lunged forward, grabbing Liam’s collar,
“What are you doing to Sarah?”
He could no longer pretend Liam was just a
neighbor.
“Who gave you permission to touch my
wife?!”
L
Liam laughed, “Your wife? Ethan, did you ever
truly cherish Sarah?”
“You!”
Before Ethan could react, Liam punched him. “Smith, if Sarah wasn’t kind, I would’ve
thrown you to the wolves. She’s my fiancée,
even if you bother her, she won’t look at you.”
Ethan froze, incredulously looking at me, “Is that true? Sarah, we’ve only been separated for a month, and you’re engaged?”
I hadn’t told him I’d accepted Liam’s proposal after learning about Jenny’s pregnancy.
I leaned on Liam’s shoulder, smiling, and
nodded.
Ethan, bewildered, trembled, “Sarah, are you
crazy? You’re my wife. I didn’t agree to the
divorce, yet you’re with another man. How
dare you?”
Why not dare?
く
I tilted my head, blinking playfully, “Does your agreement matter? Ethan, you think too
highly of yourself. I’m telling you for the last
time, you’re worthless to me. We’re over.” Ignoring the devastated Ethan, I held Liam’s
hand, continuing to enjoy the moon.
Nobody knew when Ethan left, but he didn’t
go back. He bought an apartment overlooking the vineyard.
Every day, besides video conferencing with
management, he would drive to the vineyard
gate, with different flowers or gifts I’d
mentioned, watching me.
I ignored him, never changing my plans.
Nine years of a miserable marriage taught
me: Never change your life for a man.
Work, socialize. I only care about my own
happiness.
Ethan was likely clinging to me because
Grandpa Smith wanted me back.
२
So I called Grandpa Smith, telling him I had a fiancé and a new life, asking him not to force Ethan to stay in England.
For a month after that call, surprisingly, he
still waited outside the vineyard, watching me
from afar.
Liam lost his patience.
One night, after a party, we saw Ethan with
white roses.
As I got out of the car, fireworks erupted.
Liam had repeatedly watched Ethan’s
proposal video. I’d been captivated by the
fireworks and accepted his proposal.
Seeing me distracted, Liam ran to Ethan and
started fighting, “Ethan! You shameless
homewrecker! You’re so pathetic, clinging to
my fiancée!”
