By now its dark and the stars are out, “Should we get out?” I ask her. 

She nods and I carry her out of the pond. She jumps down onto the blanket and lays down on her back. I copy her and we look up at the sky. We slowly make our way towards each other until she is wrapped around my body, the way we both like it. 

“There’s Perseus. My favorite.” She point up to one of the constellations. 

“What is it?” I ask confused as fuck because it doesn’t look like anything. 

She laughs, “Its a hero.” 

“See, there’s his body. It connects to a sword if you fill in the blanks.” 

“Why is it your favorite?” I ask. 

She sighs, “When I was younger I always wanted a hero… well, I wanted someone to be my hero, even if he wasn’t the hero.”

“I didn’t necessarily want a knight in shining armor, I just wanted someone who loved me. I 

didn’t care if he was the villain.” 

I look down at her, and it hurts to know that she doesn’t know I love her that much. I would 

give up anything for her of she asked me to. She is my everything. 

“I love you that much.” I say quietly. 

Her head snaps up to look at me and she blinks, “What?” She whispers. 

“I love you that much.” I say again.

“I’m not. I have loved you for awhile now, I just didn’t want to scare you off.” 

She is silent for a moment, “Promise me that you will never keep secrets from me, ok?” She asks with tears in her eyes. 

My heart clenches. I am already keeping a secret from her. I am apart of a completely different world that she has no knowledge of. Being with me puts her in danger, but us not being together could kill us. 

“I promise.” I whisper. 

She leans in and kisses me till I forget that I just made the second biggest mistake of my life. The first was letting her go.. 

Lee’s POV: 

He told me he loves me. 

He told me he loves me, and I actually believed him. With Jason it was always just words strung together that we said. Looking back, I don’t think I ever actually loved him. I was 

attached to him. I didn’t know the difference, and now I do. 

Damion makes me feel comfortable, safe, cared for, free, and loved. 

I didn’t say those words back yet though. I am still a little cautious because of what happened with Jason. 

Don’t get me wrong, I love Damion. But, there is something that is holding me back. 

“What are you thinking about?” He asks me while pulling into my drive way. 

I look at him. “Say it again.” 

He shifts into park, looks at me, and cradles my face, “I love you.” 

smile and lean in for a kiss. 

am hoping he will think I didn’t say it back because of the kiss and not because I don’t feel that way, because I do. I’m just scared of getting hurt.
