“Oh my God! Damion, you scared the hell out of me!” I say trying to recover from my heart.

“What are you doing out here?” He asks seriously. 

“I… ah I–I needed water, but I thought I saw something.” I turn around and start to move towards the window to look for the glowing yellow eyes again. 

He grabs my wrist before I can and pulls me into his chest, “What did you see?” He asks 

seriously. 

“Well, I thought they were fireflies, but they weren’t. I–I think I saw and animal or something. It had these… glowing yellow eyes. A–and I know I sound crazy, but I’ve seen them before. They were outside the library that day my car broke down. Please believe me, I know I’m not crazy.” I tell him quickly while begging him to know its the truth. 

I look down and then his finger lifts my chin up, “I believe you.” 

“You do?” I ask. 

He nods, “There are dangerous animals here. Don’t ever go out at night alone.” He stresses 

to me. 

“Dangerous animals… What kind of dangerous animals and how come I have never heard 

of any?” I ask with a furrowed brow. 

“They weren’t here when you were here, or at least you didn’t know they were here.” He 

brushes the hair from my face and tucks it behind my hair. 

“What are they?” 

“Dangerous, that’s all I know and that’s all you need to know.” 

“Wait… so you know they are dangerous, but you don’t know what they are?”

He sighs, “They are wolves.” He mumbles quietly. 

I look at him like he’s crazy, “Babe, there haven’t been wolves here in decades. What are you talking about?” 

“There are now, so don’t be out alone at night. Come on lets go to bed.” He says before I can 

ask him more questions. 

He grabs my hand and leads me away from the kitchen. I take one last look at the window and there is nothing there, just the trees. We round the corner and my eyes follow Damion. 

His back has a tattoo of a wolf. 

A wolf? 

We both walk into my room and I shut the door. The lamp is on, so we can both see. 

He sits down on my bed, facing away from me with his elbow propped on his knees. He look frustrated, but I don’t know why. Did I do something? 

I get on the bed and walk on my knees over to him. I touch his back where the tattoo is and he turns his head to the right to that he can see me. He doesn’t say anything, but he does relax into my touch. Thats gives me some hope. 

“Whats wrong?” I ask him quietly while softly rubbing his back. 

He is quiet for awhile, then he speaks, “I thought you left.” He mumbles. 

I furrow my brows, “What… why would you think that?” 

“You weren’t here. I just… my mind said you left when I woke up and you weren’t here, I believed it. It scared the hell out of me.” He says with his head down while mumbling the 

last part. 

“Damion.” I say quietly to get his attention. 

He doesn’t look at me. 

I get off the bed and kneel in front of him so that I can see his eyes. My hand cradles his face, “Babe, look at me.” I say quietly. 

He looks further down so that I can’t see him. 

I sigh and stand up. I push his shoulders back so that he has to sit up or he would fall back on the bed. He sits up and I straddle him while grabbing his face. 

“Please look at me.” I beg him. 

He lifts his eyes and there are tears in them. My heart breaks when I see him. 

“Damion, no please don’t cry.” I say bringing his face closer to mine. 

“Please don’t leave.” He says while his arms wrap around my waist. 

My arms circle around his head and bring his face into my chest, “I won’t leave.” 

He doesn’t say anything. 

I release my arms and push him back by his shoulders os that he looks at me. I feel my eyes 

but I am not sure why. Maybe its because he’s hurting, or maybe its because I 

know I caused this. 

tearing up, 

“Look at me.” I grab his face and bring it up so they he is looking at me. 

He has a single tear running down his face. I gently wipe it away, “I won’t leave you.” 

“Promise?” 

“Cross my heart.” I say. 

I put my forehead against his and start to gently kiss him. We are both going to slow and taking every moment in. 

His hands grab my hips and pulls my closer. 

“I love you.” I mumbles.

“Babe.” I hear Lee say quietly. 

“Baaaabe.” She says again while shaking me. 

I snuggle my face further into her neck and start to leave sloppy kisses on her. 

She groans, “Good morning to you too.” 

I wrap my arms around her and quickly flip us over as she yelps. Now, she is straddling me and I am lying under her.
