Pudding let out a soft “woof,” as if to say, “Daddy is jealous!” 

Summer followed the sound, glanced down at Pudding, and stroked its head. “Good boy. Looks like your daddy is a little upset.” 

With quiet understanding, Pudding pressed its fluffy head against her palm. 

Summer’s gaze swept over the lavish spread on the table, then lingered on the freshly peeled crab meat Fraser had meticulously prepared. 

She wasn’t heartless. 

There was no reason to let a lifeless ex cast a shadow over her present happiness. 

After a moment, Summer set down her fork, rose to her feet, and walked toward the balcony. 

As she drew closer, she heard the low timbre of Fraser’s voice, tinged with cold fury. 

“Are you telling me that without me, this project would collapse? Then why am I paying you experts such exorbitant salaries? To sit around and be catered to? How exactly are you doing your jobs?” 

On the other end of the line, the so–called experts were silent, too intimidated to utter a sound. 

Fraser’s sharp reprimand had left them utterly cowed, not daring even to breathe too loudly. 

He was always rigorous when it came to work, yet even in past crises, he had never unleashed his temper quite like this. 

Now, all they could do was nod meekly, stammering, “We’ll handle it properly. Please rest assured, sir!” 

Fraser’s keen gaze flicked toward Summer’s slender figure. His expression remained impassive as he spoke into the phone, his tone cold and decisive. 

“That’s it. I want to see progress by tomorrow.” 

With that, he ended the call. 

The next second, a pair of soft, delicate arms wound around his waist like silk ribbons, holding him tightly. 

“Are you upset?” Summer’s voice was like wine infused with the sweetness of ripe fruit–velvety, intoxicating, utterly different from her usual tone. 

That one simple question dissolved his frustration like mist before the morning sun.

He was utterly helpless when it came to her. 

Yet his face betrayed nothing.

Finished Summer suddenly found his temperament amusing. At times, he was just like Pudding–adorably sullen. 

“But you are my boyfriend, not some random person. Look, I even turned off my phone. That proves I didn’t want to go,” she explained patiently. “I was with him for a long time, so some friends might still misunderstand. I’ll clear things up…” 

Before she could finish, Fraser turned, dipped his head, and captured her lips in a kiss. 

Those simple words–my boyfriend–sent a tremor through him. 

Fraser realized his possessiveness over Summer ran far deeper than even he had imagined. 

His kiss was firm, unrelenting, leaving no room for resistance. 

Summer instinctively responded, her arms draping around his neck. 

But the man kissed with the hunger of a starved predator, devouring her sweetness with reckless abandon. 

Beneath the moonlight, they melted into each other, lost in the moment. 

By the time Fraser finally let her go, Summer was breathless, flushed, her lips tingling from the intensity of his touch. 

She leaned against his chest, gasping softly, and elbowed him in protest. 

Her lips were swollen. 

Fraser’s expression eased slightly. He brushed his fingers through her hair and murmured, “Next time, just say you’re having dinner with your boyfriend. Understood?” 

Summer curved her lips into a smirk. “Bossman, your possessiveness is truly something else.” 

Fraser’s eyes darkened, his voice dropping to a husky murmur, his Adam’s apple shifting. 

The night was still young. That was merely the appetizer. His appetite was far from sated. 

He gazed down at the woman in his arms. “Are you full?” 

“Yeah.” 

“Good. Now it’s my turn.” 

With that, Fraser effortlessly lifted her into his arms. 

Summer barely had time to react before her body was weightless, suspended in midair. Instinctively, she tightened her grip around his neck. 

At that moment, their eyes locked. 

His gaze was dark and fathomless, filled with a dangerous, predatory heat. 

The raw desire burning within him was almost tangible, searing through her like wildfire.
