Chapter 10

When I returned from my trip, I immediately met with a lawyer.

While I was waiting for them at the restaurant, Chloe suddenly showed up.

She tossed her designer bag onto the table, her tone dripping with arrogance and mockery.

“Mrs. Wood, you’ve finally stopped hiding?”

“Please keep your word and sign the divorce papers already. Stop clinging to Alexander!”

I gave her a calm, faint smile.

Although I hadn’t been keeping up with her news, I’d heard that just last week, while Alexander was busy dealing with the board, she was standing by as his assistant, fumbling and messing things up.

In a fit of impatience, Alexander had told her to go home and stay out of the way.

I imagine either he hasn’t gone to comfort her, or she hasn’t heard any updates on the divorce, which is why she’s starting to panic.

I replied softly, “Miss White, I’m not hiding, nor am I clinging to your Alexander…”

“Because I’ve been busy dealing with you.”

She froze, her expression immediately turning defensive. “What do you mean? What have you done?!”

“Quite a lot, actually. Which one would you like to hear about?”

Seeing the shock in her eyes, I calmly continued, “Ten minutes ago, I exposed your burner social media account.”

“By now, I’d estimate that all your little schemes with your best friend are probably all over the internet.”

“Oh, and I heard the Davis family is already pretty displeased with your bestie after that little incident last time?”

Chloe gaped at me, a mix of anger and panic on her face.

“You’re insane! I’m going to sue you for invasion of privacy!”

“Perfect,” I replied coolly. “I’m also preparing to sue, demanding you return every single ill-gotten gain.”

“Starting with that very expensive $20,000 bracelet you’re wearing.”

“Ha, you wouldn’t dare!” Chloe’s face drained of color, her chest rising and falling with heavy breaths, her voice trembling. “Alexander won’t let you do this!”

“Hmm, since you mentioned him…”

“By the way, do you want me to kindly inform him about your fake pregnancy?”

She suddenly slammed her hand on the table, standing up, her whole body shaking as she glared at me with a mix of fear and fury.

I smiled faintly, glancing past her, and said softly, “Or would you rather tell him yourself?”
