Chapter 311 The Pack Of Callum’s Money
Lady Flourish POV
The question stayed between us after Eugene ended the call.
“What the hell did my family leave me?”
Damian looked at me, but before he could answer, I stood. “I want Callum here.”

He nodded. Rhys sent the message, then asked Eugene to bring the full transfer file to F–Tech.
Eugene arrived first with the documents. Callum came twenty minutes later. He walked in alone, and the moment he saw my face, he knew why I had called him.
“You found the clause.”
“You knew about it.”
“Yes.”
I pushed the contract across the table. “You gave me money knowing that keeping it would give you legal authority over something connected to my bloodline.”
Callum looked at the document. “I didn’t lie about wanting to help you.”
“That wasn’t my question.”
He pulled out a chair but didn’t sit. “The money was never a simple gift.”
“I figured that out.”
“I wanted you to have resources no one could take from you. F–Tech, your own accounts, and independent legal protection weren’t enough. The asset was created for a different purpose.”
“What purpose?”
“To protect the First Alpha bloodline.”
I stared at him. “Then why didn’t you tell me?”
“Because you weren’t ready.”
My temper rose. “Everyone keeps saying that. Garret said it. You said it. People hid things from me because they decided what I could handle. Do you understand how exhausting that is?”

“If I’d told you earlier, people would have started looking for it. Voss would have known there was another layer of protection around you. The Eastern Army could have searched for it. And anyone watching the bloodline records would have realized you had access to something they didn’t.”
“So you hid it.”
“I protected it.”
“And used the money to secure your authority over it.”
His jaw tightened. “The clause was the only legal structure that let me transfer control without exposing the network before you were ready.”
“That’s convenient.”
“It’s also true.”
I looked at Damian. He had stayed quiet and let me handle it myself, which helped more than anything he could have said. I had spent too many years having other people decide what information I deserved.
“What exactly is this asset?” I asked.
Eugene answered from across the room. “It isn’t an asset in the usual sense.” He slid a folder forward. “It’s not a company, estate, account, or physical property. The old documents describe it as a pack protection network.”
“A network?”
“Several packs were connected through the First Alpha bloodline. They agreed to provide safe passage, emergency warriors, medical support, shelter, intelligence, and protection to members of the bloodline during conflict.”
Callum nodded. “It stayed active for generations.”
“Then why have I never heard of it?”
“Because it went dormant decades ago,” Eugene said. “It stopped responding after the last recognized heir disappeared from the records, and most of the packs eventually stopped communicating through the old system.”
“Does dormant mean dead?”
“No. The infrastructure was preserved. The old communication points were sealed and the agreements left intact. The packs simply stopped answering bloodline requests.”

My mind went back to the bloodline records Rhys had recovered. “The missing heir.”
Callum didn’t answer. “This is why the records mattered.”
“Yes.”
“And now that people believe I’m the heir, the network could activate again.”
“If the old agreements still hold.”
I leaned back. “What would I control?”
“Nothing by force,” Callum said. “You’d be recognized as the person the network was created to protect. The packs would decide whether to honor the old agreements.”
“That doesn’t sound like control.”
“It isn’t supposed to.”
Eugene turned a page. “There’s more. The network was designed to operate independently of any one pack’s political authority, so Voss couldn’t legally claim it just because the bloodline is tied to his family.”
“Could he take it?” I asked Callum.
“Not without breaking the old agreements.”
“And if I accepted your money?”
“Then I’d have legal authority to act for you regarding the network.”
“Meaning you could make decisions about it.”
“Only within the terms of the agreement.”
“So I’d finally have something that could protect me from Voss, and I’d have to hand you legal authority over it.”
“Yes.”
Damian finally spoke. “Could Flourish separate the network from the Voss agreement?”
Eugene studied the documents. “Possibly, but we’d need to examine the original charter. If the network can be reactivated under Flourish’s direct authority, we may be able to restructure the legal arrangement.”
“F–Tech could modernize it,” Callum said.

I turned to him. “What do you mean?”
“The old network relied on physical messengers, protected routes, pack signals, and bloodline seals. F–Tech has the technology to replace most of that without changing its purpose.”
Rhys nodded. “Secure communications, encrypted emergency channels, location monitoring, medical coordination, transport routes. We could build a modern system around the old pack agreements.”
I stared at the folder. For the first time, the network sounded less like another family secret and more like something I could use.
If the old agreements were still valid, a pack under attack could call for help without first asking an Alpha who might already have sided with Voss. It wasn’t built to rule packs or take territory.
It was built to protect people who were being hunted, and it could give me something Voss couldn’t control, an independent defensive alliance.
My wolf stirred. Protection.
I looked at Damian, and he seemed to understand what I was thinking. “You wouldn’t have to use it to become a leader,” he said. “You could use it to make sure no one is left without somewhere to go.”
Then three lights appeared on the secure terminal.
Rhys turned to the screen. “What is that?”
The system had detected incoming signals. One, then another, then a third, each from a different dormant pack.
Eugene leaned in. “These packs haven’t transmitted through the old network in decades.”
The first message appeared.
“WE RECOGNIZE THE HEIR.”
Another arrived with the same words. Then the third.
I stared at the screen. Three dormant packs had just activated the network at the same time, and all three had recognized me.
I wasn’t sure which part frightened me more.
