Chapter 18 Probably Takes After Her Grandpa
Harry calmly went over the details of the school transfer. Once it was confirmed that the procedures would be completed by tomorrow, the conversation should have ended there.
Just as Fiorella and her adoptive parents were about to leave, Harry suddenly spoke up again. “I’m tired. Help me back to my room, ) Fiorella.”
That stunned everyone.
“Dad…”
Bronson tried to speak but was silenced by Harry’s glare.
He knew his son had made a mistake earlier, and he himself bore responsibility. Any further protest would only make Harry angrier, so he swallowed his words and dared not say more.
Fiorella, on the other hand, simply nodded.
“Alright.”
She said nothing more and supported him as they made their way to the room on the second floor.
“You have a good–for–nothing cousin.”
With a cane, the old man could only manage the stairs with her
support.
“Only Jamila still seems somewhat decent.”

The tapping of the cane echoed as they moved along.
“Too bad she’s not of Huerta blood. And her intentions are not exactly pure.”
Along the way, Harry made some remarks.
Fiorella replied casually as if they were just a normal grandfather and granddaughter chatting.
Suddenly, he commented, “You’ve got quite the stubborn temper.”
It was hard to tell whether he was criticizing her or just making an observation.
Fiorella chuckled softly and teased, “Probably take after you, Grandpa.”
She lifted her head and met his eyes directly, a faint smile on her face.
Those clear, crystal–like eyes reflected his face.
The brows, the gaze, the aura. They were indeed alike.
At that moment, Harry burst into laughter. He didn’t usually laugh
aloud.
“No wonder you’re my granddaughter.”
In high spirits, the two continued chatting for a while.
Meanwhile, everyone downstairs in the living room was left dumbfounded.
The old man was naturally suspicious and notoriously strict with his children.

He never let anyone meddle in his personal life, let alone his room.
And yet, he now allowed this long–lost granddaughter to personally help him back to his room and even laughed with her. That laughter stirred up a mix of emotions in everyone’s hearts.
Bronson and his wife exchanged glances. They both understood one thing very clearly they did need to behave themselves.
Once Harry went to rest, the rest of the family dispersed.
As they were leaving, Bronson muttered bitterly, “You really do have a good daughter…”
Edgar didn’t respond directly. He simply said coolly, “Yes. And you have a good son.”
Bronson clicked his tongue in frustration.
Hands in his pockets and face dark, he walked toward the door. With help from his mother, Nicholas had only just managed to stand. As Bronson approached, he slapped his son across the face.
“You brat!”
A dull smack echoed through the hall.
But no one paid Nicholas any attention. Everyone had scattered. Only his mother held him in her arms.
“Don’t you dare mess with Fiorella again! Do you hear me? What were you thinking today? Why did you have to provoke her now of all times? Can’t you see she’s the favorite right now? Your father and I both kept our mouths shut, didn’t we? But don’t worry. Once your grandpa’s excitement wears off, I’ll make sure you get your revenge!”

She wouldn’t let what his son had suffered today easily go. She would make sure Fiorella paid for it one day.
But Nicholas wasn’t listening to a word. Gritting his teeth, he clenched his fists and dragged his feet away.
Jamila was right. Fiorella was nothing but trouble!
He had to find a way to get rid of her. Not just for himself, but for Jamila, too.
Otherwise, their family would be torn apart by Fiorella sooner or later!
