Vivian froze, immediately trying to defend herself. 

But Dominic gave her no chance, throwing her roughly to the ground. 

“Stop acting in front of me. I thought something was off that day and had it investigated. That seafood porridge delivery? You ordered it!” 

“Did you think I couldn’t trace it just because you tore up the receipt and deleted the order history? Vivian, you’re too naive!” 

“How could you be so vicious? To drive Aria away, you’d even harm your own child!” 

Vivian knew Dominic must have evidence. Realizing she couldn’t deny it, she could only cry and plead. 

“I didn’t mean to, Dom! I wouldn’t really let Phoenix get hurt. I’m a doctor–I’d never let anything serious happen to him. I only did it because I love you so much. I was afraid that after you married Miss Bailey, there’d be no place for me anymore.” 

“I truly didn’t mean to, Dom…” 

But Dominic had no interest in her excuses. He kicked her hard. 

“Shut up! And I’ve reviewed the hallway security footage. Before you seduced me that night, you deliberately left the door open. You wanted Aria to discover everything! You wanted to force her to leave!” 

“Vivian, are you so desperate to become Mrs. Reed? Are you so afraid Aria would stand in your way?” 

Vivian cried, begging for forgiveness. 

“I didn’t mean to, Dom, it’s all because of the child! Phoenix is so young–he can’t be without a father… I never intended to ruin things between you and Miss Bailey. I just love you too much…” 

Dominic closed his eyes tightly. When he opened them, he spoke through gritted teeth. 

“You should be grateful the child is still young. Otherwise, I would kill you!” 

Dominic didn’t spare Vivian another glance, turning instead to his deputy. 

“Send her back, and without my permission, she is never to appear before me or Aria again!” 

Vivian screamed and sobbed, but the deputy dragged her out. Her cries echoed through the mansion long after she 

was gone. 

I was completely unaware of the chaos on Dominic’s end. Currently, Julian and I were living like an old married couple. 

During this time, I had been staying in Julian’s garden villa, spending days sunbathing with him, writing,

I hadn’t thought about Dominic in a long time. 

Until today, half a month later, when Dominic somehow obtained my new contact information and began sending me messages nonstop. 

“Aria, where’re you? Let me come get you, please? Let me explain in person.” 

“I was wrong–I know I was wrong. Please answer my call, okay?” 

“Your grandfather says you’re marrying that Thornton idiot. Why?! Don’t you love me? Why would you marry someone else!” 

“Please, Aria, just say something to me, okay? Please?” 

The messages came one after another until I couldn’t stand it anymore and blocked his number. 

I thought the world would finally be quiet again. 

But the next morning, returning from my morning run, I saw a familiar figure outside the Thornton villa. 

As soon as he spotted me, Dominic rushed forward eagerly. 

“Aria, I’ve come to take you home.”
