Chapter 4
I
By the time Sebastian and I were almost done shopping, it was nearly ten o’clock.
There was a huge sale today, so the crowds were insane.
Sebastian carried all the heavy bags in one hand while keeping his other arm loosely around me, shielding me from any kids running around.
He was so thoughtful, but honestly, I was starting to hate grocery grocery shopping with him.
Every time we hit the checkout, the cashier would tease us about being such a “cute couple” or looking “so in
love.”
Before, I would’ve soaked up those compliments and felt a secret thrill because Sebastian never denied
them.
But now, knowing Sebastian isn’t into me, I just felt totally restless.
In fact, looking at it from his perspective, I felt like my past behavior was nothing short of se//xually
harassment.
So, when the cashier greeted us again, I blurted out abruptly.
“We are not together!”
Both she and Sebastian were stunned; they clearly didn’t expect such a big reaction from me.
After a long pause, Sebastian gritted his teeth and said, “Right. We’re not.”
I nodded quickly in agreement.
It seemed Sebastian had been wanting to clear the air about our relationship for a while.
He doesn’t like me; I’ve just been deluding myself.
I blamed myself for being so clueless and misreading all his signals.
On the way home, Sebastian walked incredibly fast.
With his long legs, he put quite a distance between us in seconds.
I was smart enough not to pester him for a piggyback ride or act spoiled by asking him to wait up.
When we finally reached the house, the front door was slightly ajar.
Sebastian frowned; he distinctly remembered locking the door before we left.
Without a word, he stepped in front of me and shoved the door open.
Immediately, his pupils contracted!

Because there was a strange man in our home.
He was wearing the plaid shirt I had just bought, and he flashed his cute fangs when he smiled at me.
“Master, thank you. I love the clothes you bought me~”
Sebastian’s face turned even darker.
“This is the ‘guest’ you mentioned?”
“Are you taking in another succubus?”
Julian Sterling tilted his head and smiled at Sebastian too. “Not a friend. I’m the Master’s husband. She can…
use me.”
My face instantly turned bright red.
As expected of a Companion-Class Succubus; he really has no filter when he speaks.
Sebastian’s gaze slowly swept between Julian and me-cold and heavy, making me afraid to look up.
Finally, he gave me one last deep look before silently heading into the kitchen.
What was going on?
Even though Sebastian didn’t say anything, why did I feel like he was fuming?
Suddenly, I lost all interest in Julian’s flirting.
I pulled out my phone to message support: “Is Sebastian a high-tier succubus? I get the feeling he’s being super hostile toward Julian.”
The screen kept showing [Typing…]
Two minutes later, the concierge finally replied: [Sorry, Honey. We’re having some database issues and can’t check his rank right now.]
[However, historical records show Sebastian’s initial rank wasn’t high-tier.]
I had my answer then.
It was most likely just Sebastian’s natural personality.
Just as I was debating whether to go comfort Sebastian, he started bringing out the food.
Julian approached him with starry eyes. “Bro, you’re amazing. From now on, we’ll each do our part and take
great care of the master.”
Sebastian ignored him completely, setting the table for me and pouring me a glass of apple juice.
After that, he retreated to his room and didn’t come out even after Julian and I finished eating.

I felt a sense of unease in my heart.
Was Sebastian on a hunger strike?
Was he afraid I’d dump him now that I had another succubus?
I took the initiative to enter his room, choosing my words carefully. “Thanks for today. Is there anything you
want? I can grant you one wish.”
Sebastian’s brow remained furrowed, but his gaze softened. He gave a low, muffled “Mm.”
“What if I told you to get rid of Julian?”
