The Diary Of An Unloved Wife Chapter 09

Beckett walked over. For some reason, he reached out and took it down. He had a feeling that whatever was inside would be related to Iris.

He carefully opened it.

And found only a yellowed notebook inside.

When he opened the first page, his entire body froze, and his grip on the notebook suddenly tightened.

A name… the first page was densely covered with his name…

His name, Beckett…

And the handwriting was the one he was most familiar with—Iris’s handwriting.

From her youthful days to maturity, there were entries from every period of time.

He opened his mouth, but his throat was so choked up that he couldn’t make a sound. Suddenly realizing what this was, he hurriedly turned the page.

[July 23, 2019.

Dad passed away. Before he died, he held my hand and told me to marry Felix. I didn’t want to. No one knew that the person I liked was always Beckett. But… I couldn’t let Dad down.]

All sounds vanished from his ears.

Beckett stared at those few words. They were like a poisonous vine wrapping around his heart.

Trembling, he turned to the next page.

[July 31, 2019.

Felix ran away from the wedding. No one knew that I was incredibly happy. After all the twists and turns, I still ended up marrying Beckett. Would you say this is God giving me a second chance? But he doesn’t seem happy. What should I do?]

[December 5, 2019.

I found out I’m pregnant. I’ve never looked forward to something so much. It’s our baby. But he doesn’t like it. He told me to get rid of the child. It’s my fault. I should have realized earlier that he was forced into marrying me. It was never voluntary.]

The ink on those words had already blurred.

Beckett collapsed into the chair.

He brushed his fingers over the page, realizing that it was Iris’s tears.

“That’s not how it was…”

He had always looked forward to that child’s birth.

He thought that Iris was miserable being with him, so he chose to play the villain and tell her to end the pregnancy.
