The Rejected Luna’s Secret - Chapter (32)

Chapter 22
Blair’s POV
They were still holding on to their delusions-still hoping I’d forgive them.
Gifts kept arriving one after another, like some desperate apology parade. I returned every single one without a second thought.
Cassian watched as I tossed them out, and he couldn’t help but laugh.
“My Alpha summit’s almost over. Want to come back to Skylorne with me?”
I froze mid-movement.
“Skylorne? Isn’t that Lycan territory?”
He raised a brow, like it was no big deal. “Didn’t I tell you? I’m a Lycan.”
Everything suddenly made sense. “So that’s how you were able to force Christian back that day…” I
muttered.
There was a long silence before I asked the question that had been weighing on me.
“Cassian… do you really like me?”
“Do you really not care about my past?”
His gaze was steady, warm. “Blair, I’m a grown man. I know the difference between gratitude and love. I like you. I love you. And I want to protect you.”
“As for your past… all it does is break my heart. I only regret not meeting you sooner.”
Cassian wasn’t the kind of man who made grand gestures or dramatic promises-but everything he did was thoughtful. Every word, every action, full of quiet care.
I wasn’t that foolish girl anymore, chasing some intense, all-consuming kind of love. What moved
me now were the little things-the kind of love that hid in details.
“Blair… let’s go to Skylorne together. I’ll protect you. Always.”
Just as we were getting ready to leave, Christian showed up.
He looked worse than before-drawn, haggard, weighed down by misery.
“Blair, can we talk?”
I tried to walk past him, but he stepped in front of me, almost begging. “Just one conversation. After

that, I swear I won’t bother you again.”
I sighed and agreed. We ended up at a nearby café.
“Blair… is there really no chance left for us?”
I could’ve let go of what happened between him and Carrie. But I couldn’t accept the fact that even when he claimed to love me-he always had Carrie in his heart.
“Christian, the moment you marked Carrie and told her you didn’t love me… that’s when it ended for us.”
“I was such a fool. I stayed, even when I knew I was just her replacement.”
“But that kind of love? It was suffocating. Christian, we both need to move on.”
He didn’t try to argue. Just kept apologizing, again and again.
I couldn’t forgive him on behalf of the girl I used to be. And he knew-even if I did forgive him and agreed to go back, those wounds would never heal.
They’d always be there between us.
Uncrossable. Unforgettable.
We could never go back to the way things were.
I set down my coffee cup and stood to leave.
Christian remained frozen in place. He took a few unconscious steps after me-then stopped.
He watched my figure grow smaller and smaller until it disappeared entirely.
Memories came flooding back-snapshots of the past. The sound of my laughter, the light in my eyes. And that’s when it hit him-I’d already made my choice long ago.
From the moment I stopped looking at him with love. From the moment I stopped speaking to him after getting hurt.
We’d already started drifting apart.
There really was no going back.
Christian shook his head, a bitter smile on his lips, and walked away with heavy steps-never looking back.
The following spring, I moved to Skylorne with Cassian. We were officially together.

The next time I heard anything about the Blood Stone Pack was through a phone call from the pack
elder.
“Hello, is this Blair? Sister of the Alpha from Blood Stone Pack? I’m sorry to inform you – our Alphas were killed during a rogue attack. Their assets and the pack itself now legally belong to you. When would be a good time for you to come and discuss the inheritance process? So you can take
over the pack.”
I felt… nothing. Not sorrow. Not relief. Just emptiness.
And I didn’t want their money, either.
“No need. Donate everything under their names. As for the new Alpha, choose someone
yourselves.”
Christian had also left the pack. He now lived in solitude, kneeling before the Moon Temple,
seeking redemption.
Carrie had passed away too-from cancer.
It was all over.
When Cassian told me everything, those memories stirred for a moment… but the pain was gone.
Now, I had something I never thought I’d find-happiness.
A love that belonged to me, and me alone.

Skyla’s POV
“Skyla, Selene, Sebastian-get down here now!” our mom, Luna Camilla, shouted from
downstairs.
“Breakfast is ready, and we still need to go over the final details for your birthday party.
Oh, right! I probably should’ve mentioned this earlier-we’re triplets, and tomorrow we turn 18
It’s a huge deal in our world. Tomorrow, we’ll not only discover who our fated mates are, but we al
also shift for the first time at exactly 11:12 p.m.-the minute we were all born.
“Triple S, move it or you’ll be late for school!”
That’s what Dad calls us when we’re dragging our feet. It’s his way of rounding us up all at once.
While I’m getting ready, let me give you a quick intro to Triple S.
First up: Sebastian, the oldest of us three.
He’s a towering 6’8 with warm almond-toned skin like Mom’s, and he’s just as muscular and
athletic as Dad.
His piercing blue eyes are bound to make his mate melt the moment she meets him.
He keeps his long dreadlocks meticulously groomed, and even though half the girls in school can’t stop flirting with him, Sebastian’s saving himself for his mate.
He’s not just my brother-he’s my best friend and the future Alpha of our pack.
Then there’s me. I’m the middle triplet.
I’ve got a golden-beige complexion and hazel eyes like Dad.
Physically, I’m in great shape because I’ve been secretly training extra hours with Dad.
You see, the Moon Goddess gave my parents a vision-my wolf is supposed to be something special
once I shift.
But no one really knows what I look like underneath my baggy hoodies and loose joggers. I wear oversized clothes on purpose-I’d rather avoid the stares.
And I always wear glasses, which doesn’t help. People call me names-“ugly,” “fat,” “four-eyes.”
If only they knew the truth.
