Novel Info

The wedding was insanely luxurious yet also romantic beyond compare.

Jonathan and Wallace never got to step foot into the wedding venue. However, they silently made a unanimous decision not to leave.

Alas, Wallace couldn’t hang on until the wedding ended. His chest suddenly felt constricted, and he had to be sent to the hospital by ambulance. There, the doctor managed to save his life, but he remained unconscious.

As for Jonathan, he stood outside the venue until the wedding ended.

For some reason, Ruth’s best friend, Sandra, never blocked him. So, he managed to watch the entire wedding ceremony through her social media.

Jonathan had known Ruth’s husband-to-be was Evan before the wedding.

He recalled Evan as someone exceptional from Ruth’s university days. Ruth had always said good things about him.

At the time, Ruth and Jonathan were still in their honeymoon phase of dating. Jonathan would always be jealous when he heard of Evan. So, Ruth stopped mentioning Evan with time and deliberately distanced herself from him.

Who would have known Ruth would marry Evan after life’s many twists and turns?

As a man, Jonathan could tell at first glance that Evan loved Ruth a lot.

Every photo at the wedding venue showed Evan staring affectionately at Ruth and giving his full attention to her

Jonathan saw his old self through those photos of Evan. He once loved Ruth as deeply as Evan, after all.

He merely fell into the assumption that he was tired of faith at some point and became enthralled by much younger women. His actions ultimately caused him to lose Ruth.

Unfortunately, it was already too late to regret everything when he finally snapped out of his womanizing ways and wanted to go back to how things were.

Ruth left the venue in Evan’s car.

Jonathan wondered if Ruth and Evan were about to go to their new home as a married couple. The thought made Jonathan’s heart twist with indescribable bitterness and grief.

He had also overheard that the couple had planted many crabapple trees in their new home.

It was spring, which was the most perfect time of the year for blooms. Those crabapple trees were likely blooming brilliantly.

Jonathan drove back to Pinelielm City that night. It was late when he went on a winding bridge. No other vehicles were there apart from his.

He drove at the highest speed, bolting down the bridge. Then, he turned steering wheel and shut his eyes. His recklessly speeding car soon crashed into the bridge’s railing.

After the loud bang, Jonathan found himself at peace again.

It was the season for crabapples to bloom, but those blooms were now in another person’s home. If Jonathan could start over, he wished to return to the year be first met Ruth.
