I wandered alone at the banquet,

Calmly enduring one pitying glance after another.

Alexander had sent his eager little mistress away and found me with a stern look on his face.

He reminded me, in his usual authoritative tone, that I should follow him and play my role as Mrs. Morgan in public.

I downed a glass of champagne in one gulp, completely ignoring him.

Honestly, if I hadn’t thought I might run into Mrs. Thompson, who had been living abroad for years, and finally tell her about the divorce, I wouldn’t have even bothered to show up.

“Olivia, what the hell are you playing at?” Alexander gritted his teeth, his face darkening.

Suddenly, he grabbed my wrist, his tone shifting.

“How did you lose so much weight in just a few days? You look like a ghost.”

“I had someone send a lot of baby supplies to the house, did you get them?” he asked.

But I coldly yanked my wrist away, leaving him standing there, speechless.

After a few more glasses of wine, I found a quiet corner to rest.

But, of course, I overheard Chloe and her friend laughing on the couch nearby.

“Chloe, you’re Mrs. Davis now, all official and legal. I’m so happy for you!”

“I’m happy for you too! Who doesn’t know that you, Chloe White, are Mr. Morgan’s favorite now?”

“Hurry up and get to work, try to give him a child!”

“Mm, soon.” Chloe smiled, stroking her belly, her eyes flashing with unmistakable ambition.

“That old woman will be completely defeated soon.”

As they laughed, Chloe noticed me. Her eyes widened in surprise.

She quickly masked her panic, stood up, and approached with a cocky attitude.

“You heard everything, didn’t you?” she asked.

“Actually, I don’t want to ruin your marriage…” she added, playing the victim.

“But what can I do? Mr. Morgan really seems to like me.”

Her eyes gleamed with sharp provocation.

“Why don’t you just step aside?”

I smiled, my voice low and calm.

“Even if I step aside, can you really take my place?”

That one sentence froze her, her cheeks flushing as she bit her lip hard.

Suddenly, her eyes lit up with malicious intent.

She quickly put on a pained expression, as if the air itself had hurt her, and crashed straight into the nearby champagne tower.

The tower collapsed instantly, glass shattering everywhere.

Shocked gasps came from behind me.

“Olivia, what did you do to her?!” someone shouted.
