Chapter 368 The First Public Threat
Lady Flourish’s POV
The first broadcast reached my office shortly after nine in the morning.

Cheryl was updating me on the security upgrades when Rhys called. His voice was tense, and he skipped the greeting. “Flourish, you need to see what’s circulating across the territories.”
He sent a recording. I opened it expecting another report about the Eastern Army. Instead, a man I didn’t recognize appeared beneath a headline accusing F-Tech of secretly building a private army.
“Several independent packs have reported unusual warrior movements connected to Lady Flourish’s company,” he announced. “Sources indicate that F-Tech has been recruiting fighters under the cover of security operations while expanding its influence over vulnerable packs.”
I watched to the end. No names, no dates, no evidence, only claims dressed as facts. A second clip showed armed Dartwood warriors outside one of our facilities.
The footage was real, but the narration claimed they were being trained for an operation under my command.
“Who released these?”
“We’re tracing the original broadcasts. They’ve shown up on several pack channels, and the wording is almost identical.”
“Almost?”
“Some versions add that you’re forcing smaller packs into the bloodline network. Others say F- Tech plans to replace their Alphas.”
I stared at the screen. We had spent months making our agreements voluntary, documenting withdrawal rights, and limiting access to each pack’s information.
Now someone had turned our own security work into a plan for control.
“Get me every version. I want to know which footage was altered and where the original came from.”
Before the call ended, another notification appeared.
An Alpha scheduled to discuss our communications system had postponed, with no explanation except a request to wait until the allegations had been investigated.

By the time I reached the main conference room, three more meetings had been delayed.
Cheryl followed me in with a stack of printouts. “Reception is flooded with client calls. One asked if our security staff are being trained for combat.”
“They receive defensive training. That isn’t a secret.”
“They don’t care about the distinction.”
I called an emergency meeting with the communications and security teams. Rhys joined by video while the others took their seats, and I put the broadcasts on the main screen.
“Let’s separate what we know from what they’re claiming. Our security staff protect our facilities and personnel. Dartwood warriors helped with defensive assessments, with proper authorization. We have not built a private army, and we have not ordered any pack to surrender its authority to F-Tech.”
A communications officer raised a hand. “Should we issue a public denial immediately?”
“Yes, but not one written in anger. State the purpose of our security contracts, the voluntary nature of our agreements, and the limits of our authority. Every claim has to be backed by records we can release.”
“We confirm the Dartwood footage shows a legitimate assessment,” I added. “We don’t publish private security arrangements or anything that puts our people at risk.”
Rhys cut in from the screen. “There’s another problem. The broadcasts are moving through channels belonging to several different packs. Whoever is behind this has access to multiple networks.”
“Can we identify the source?”
“Not yet. Some files have been copied and reuploaded so many times the original is almost impossible to trace.”
The meeting ended with a list of tasks, but the story was already outrunning us.
Back in my office, my phone rang. An Alpha whose pack had recently accepted our communications proposal.
“I need to ask you something directly. Are you building a force that will eventually answer only to you?”
“No. F-Tech has no authority to command your warriors or interfere with your leadership. Our contract covers communications and security services.”
“Then why are people saying you’ve been recruiting fighters?”

“Someone is presenting defensive work as military recruitment. We’re investigating and preparing a response.”
He was silent a moment. “My council is worried. They agreed to work with you to protect our people, not to be put in the middle of a power struggle.”
“You have every right to review your agreement and ask for evidence before you decide.”
“I’ll speak with my council.”
He hung up without promising to keep the contract.
Messages kept arriving from other territories. Some questioned our intentions. Others repeated the accusations as if they were proven. A few clients defended F-Tech, but their replies were buried under new clips.
Damian arrived a little later, having heard about the broadcasts from his own security team. He watched one of the clips, then turned to me. “They’re using the warriors who helped inspect your facilities.”
“And making it look as if I command them.”
“Do you want Dartwood to issue a statement?”
“Not yet. If this becomes a dispute between packs, that gives them exactly what they want.”
His jaw tightened, but he nodded. “Then let me help trace the broadcasts.”
“Rhys is coordinating. Your people can supply the original security footage and confirm when it was recorded.”
“Done.”
The public statement was ready. We could explain our policies and release evidence, but we couldn’t force every Alpha to trust us when the accusations were reaching their members faster than our answer. I approved it and told Cheryl to send it.
Within minutes another manipulated broadcast appeared.
This one showed a map of several pack territories joined by lines, with F-Tech’s name at the center. The narrator called it evidence of a planned military alliance.
I recognized the map. It came from a diagram we used to coordinate emergency communications, but the labels had been changed.
I called Rhys. “That’s our network diagram. How did they get it?”

“We’re on it.”
I enlarged the image. The diagram had never left our internal systems.
Whoever was behind this wasn’t just inventing stories about F-Tech. They had been inside our files, and they knew exactly how to make our work look like a threat.
