Chapter 375 The Wolf Who Surrendered
Lady Flourish POV
The captured attacker asked to speak shortly after Damian and I returned to the estate.
Rhys informed us that he had refused to answer questions since the previous night. He had eaten very little, rejected medical attention for a wound on his side, and asked twice whether the other members of his unit had been found.
“He’s requesting to speak to you,” Rhys added. “He specifically asked for the person responsible for F- Tech.”
I exchanged a glance with Damian.
“Did he give a reason?”
“No. He only said the information concerned the attack.”
We followed Rhys to the security room. The prisoner was seated at the table, his wrists secured with restraints. His wound had been treated, though he still looked uncomfortable. When I entered, his eyes
moved from me to Damian.
“You’re Flourish?” he asked.
“Yes.”
“I want to make a deal.”
Damian pulled out the chair beside me but remained standing. “You attacked our facility. Why should we negotiate with you?”
“Because what you think happened there isn’t the reason we were sent.”
I sat across from him. “Then explain.”
He looked toward the guards. Rhys understood and asked them to wait outside. Damian stayed beside me, his arms crossed.
The prisoner took a breath.
“We were told F-Tech had weapons stored at the eastern center. We were supposed to seize the facility, destroy anything we couldn’t carry, and leave before reinforcements arrived.”
“That was the information you received,” I said. “But you believe there was another objective?”
He nodded.
“The weapons story was only meant to get us there. We were looking for access to your systems.”
I leaned forward. “Which systems?”

“The bloodline network.”

Damian moved closer to the table. “You attacked a logistics center to access a communications system?”
“That’s what we were told to find. The storage building was supposed to contain a connection point or a device that could lead us to the main system.”
I looked at Rhys, who had been taking notes.
“Did anyone explain what they intended to do with it?”
The prisoner hesitated. His gaze moved between us before he answered.
“They want to reactivate the dormant bloodline channels.”
I felt my fingers tighten against the edge of the table.
“Which channels?”
“All of them.”
Rhys stopped writing.
The prisoner continued. “The old channels have been inactive for years. Some packs don’t even know they exist. Others have records of them but no working connection. Your technology can identify bloodline signals, verify them, and establish communication between packs. Voss believes he can use it to bring every dormant channel back online at once.”
Damian’s expression hardened. “How?”
“I don’t know the technical details. We were told F-Tech had developed a system capable of reaching the old network. The objective was to take control of that technology and deliver it to the people waiting for it.”
I looked at Rhys. He had already opened the restricted network records on his tablet.
“Could the emergency protocol do that?” I asked.
“No,” he replied. “It was designed to handle verified emergency requests. It doesn’t have permission to activate dormant channels.”
“Could someone modify it?”
Rhys didn’t answer immediately.
“Possibly, if they gained access to enough of the underlying records and systems. But we’d need to examine the architecture before making that judgment.”
I turned back to the prisoner. “Who gave you the instructions?”
“An intermediary, We never met Voss.”
“Name?”

“Rovan.”

The name meant nothing to me. Rhys wrote it down and asked for a description, but the prisoner could provide only a rough account of the wolf and the location where they had received their instructions.
“Did Rovan tell you why Voss wanted the channels activated?”
“He said the old bloodline network was incomplete. That the dormant channels had to be brought back before someone else could interfere with it.”
“Who was someone else?”
“I wasn’t told.”
Damian placed both hands on the table. “You expect us to believe you know all this, but you don’t know who gave the orders or why they want the network?”
“I was hired to carry out an operation. I wasn’t part of their inner circle.”
“Convenient.”
“I know how it sounds.” The prisoner looked directly at him. “But I came here to tell you because the next team won’t be looking for weapons. They’ll be looking for your access points, your records, and anyone who can help them get into the system.”
I studied his face. He was afraid, though I couldn’t tell whether it was fear of Voss or fear of what Damian might do to him.
“Why surrender now?” I asked.
He lowered his eyes.
“Because I found out what happened to the last group that failed. They were blamed for losing the operation, and two of them disappeared. I don’t want to end up like them.”
“Did you know the objective before the attack?”
“I knew we were supposed to capture something from F-Tech. I didn’t know the full reason until after we reached the meeting point.”
Rhys asked him to repeat the details about Rovan and the instructions.
He did, including the names of two wolves who had handled their equipment. We would need to verify everything before treating it as fact,
Damian finally spoke again. “If you’re lying, we’ll find out.”
“I understand.”
“You’ll remain in custody while we investigate. You won’t be released because you’ve decided to talk.”
The prisoner nodded. He seemed to have expected that answer.

After the guards returned him to his holding room, Rhys remained with us.
“The current system doesn’t have a command to activate every dormant channel,” he said. “But the older records may contain information that could help someone build one.”
“Then we restrict access to those records immediately,” I replied. “No one should be able to retrieve the original bloodline data without additional verification.”
Rhys agreed and began making arrangements.
Damian looked at me. “If Voss wants the technology, he’ll keep coming after F-Tech
“I know.”
“And this time, he’s not trying to damage your reputation. He wants something he can use.”
I glanced at the records on Rhys’s tablet. We had spent months building a system that allowed packs to seek help without surrendering control of their information.
Now we had learned that someone intended to use that same technology to reach channels that had remained dormant for generations.
“Find out whether the old channels can be accessed independently of our emergency network,” I told Rhys. “I want every possible connection point identified.”
He nodded.
As he left, Damian took my hand.
The attack on the logistics center had been a failed attempt to reach our systems.
The next one could be much harder to stop, especially if Voss already knew which records he needed.
And we still didn’t know what would happen if every dormant bloodline channel opened at once.
