Chapter 4 

After seven years of being together, I thought that no matter what, Christian should have believed in my 

character. 

Little did he know that, in front of Vanessa, no matter how many more years passed, it would all be in vain. 

A single sentence from her could convict me, leaving me with no chance of redemption. 

This was a blatant favoritism, and also a naked preference. 

And I was ultimately just a substitute with nothing. 

There was no need for further argument, so I turned around and left, ignoring Christian’s angry rebuke. 

I had a slap mark on my face, and I didn’t want to ruin my colleagues’ mood, so I didn’t go back to the private 

room. 

But instead, I went to the front desk alone and paid the bill. Afterward, I sent them a message, informing them that I had to leave temporarily. They enjoyed their meal and drinks, but I had already taken care of the 

bill! 

Dragging my exhausted body back home, I carefully examined the place where I had lived for seven years for 

the first time. 

Every corner here holds sweet memories of me and Christian. 

What was once considered incredibly beautiful has now turned into a series of sharp swords piercing my 

heart. 

I found a large cardboard box and began clearing away the traces of happiness all night without sleep. 

The slippers of the cat and dog love diary, the couple cups that can be put together, the keychain that can sense each other within 10 meters… and a whole box of group photos. 

These were the only ways that could prove my relationship with Christian when I had the least sense of security. 

Now, there was no longer any need for existence at all! 

Christian did not come back for half a month. And during this half month, besides completing the design drafts, I almost emptied the entire house. 

After I got rid of all the furniture I had purchased, the entire house seemed to return to its original state when I first moved in. The black-and-white color scheme was so simple that you could see the whole room at a

The night before leaving, I wanted to clarify some things with Christian, so I called him. 

But the phone calls I made were repeatedly hung up by Christian. 

After a while, Christian sent a message. “If you haven’t realized your mistake and are not genuinely apologizing to Vanessa, then I don’t think we need to have any further communication.” 

I gave a bitter smile and said, “If that’s the case, then let’s not talk anymore.” 

The next day, I caught an early flight and dragged my luggage out of the door. 

The house that used to make me deeply nostalgic, now leaving me with nothing but a sense of endless 

relaxation. 

Before boarding the plane, my phone received countless birthday wishes. 

Some of them wished me a bright future, some wished me peace and happiness, and some wished me a happy and fulfilling marriage with a good husband! 

After replying one by one, I turned off my phone. 

The moment the plane took off, I thought, “I can do it!” 

With so many people wishing me well, I would be happy!
