Chapter 25

The sound of Colton’s shout made Julia realize that she didn’t want to stay and take care of Maren.

I called Kaleb for the first time.

“It was me, Julia.”

“Mom fainted, come to Fairlea.”

As soon as this statement was made, Kaleb immediately canceled all the meetings and events.

Booked the fastest flight to Fairlea, afraid that Maren might have any mishaps.

In his heart, there was nothing more important than Maren.

As soon as Kaleb got off the plane, he hurried to the hospital. When he saw Julia, he paused for a

moment.

Looking at Maren, who was still unconscious, Kaleb’s face was filled with worry.

He watched for a while before he went out, and when he saw Julia sitting in the corridor, he sat

down beside her.

“This was the third time your mother fainted, and each time it was because she heard news about

you.”

“She always had an insurmountable hurdle in her heart, feeling indebted to you.”

Kaleb, a big man, choked up at the mention of it.

“I am also sorry to you.”

“Over the years, I ignored everything about you, I’m sorry.”

“I know your mother must have told you a lot, but I still want to say, if possible, please come back.

We all miss you.”

The word “missing” is quite niche. In my senior year, Julia studied art and didn’t come home for three to four months while she was studying outside.

Even so, she never received a phone call or a text message.

It seems difficult to express concern.

Julia always believed that it was her fault that her parents didn’t love her.

But the truth is, they never had her in their hearts.

During that period, there seemed to be no other joy except for drawing every day.

Will they understand?

There is no true empathy in the world, how could one understand?

I don’t know when, but when I heard these words, tears unexpectedly fell from the corner of my

eyes. Julia immediately wiped them away and composed herself before replying, “I understand, let

me think about it myself.”

Kaleb did not push her anymore.

When she walked alone outside, Beckett would appear by her side and quietly accompany her.

He understood her sensitivity and fragility, understood her soft heart.

Julia stared off into space.

“Beckett, do you think I should go back?”

She began to doubt her decision.

Her mother was still lying in the sickbed, and she was acting like a mischievous child.

Even she was aware of it. Beckett took her hand, speaking softly.

“How could it be? How could these years be your fault? You were the one who got hurt.”

“Following my thoughts, I will always be by your side.”

Tears welled up in Julia’s eyes, and she couldn’t help it whenever she heard such words.

“I was conflicted. On one hand, I hated them for what they had done to me, but when I saw her lying on the hospital bed, I wanted to forgive them.”

Beckett placed her head on her own body.

“That was because you loved and hated clearly, yet you were kind.”

Some people would summarize all her shortcomings as strengths.

Someone would tell her that everything she did was right.

She faced her inner self and had the answers.

Don’t avoid it, both the good and the bad have already happened.

Perhaps people need to look forward, and she especially so.

No matter what, what happened has always happened.

Hate or not hate, it will eventually heal her wounded soul.

When she saw Kaleb and Maren again, she already had her thoughts in her mind.
