Chapter 17 

Trevor woke up from his sleep and stayed awake until dawn, without feeling sleepy again. 

His head was a mess, like a pot of paste. He thought about many things, yet it seemed like he didn’t think about anything at all. 

At eight o’clock in the morning, he went to the bathroom to freshen up. 

I looked up and was startled by my reflection in the mirror. 

His face turned pale, his eye sockets sunken, and the dark circles under his eyes were very prominent. There was also a layer of messy stubble on his chin, making him look very untidy. 

Trevor looked at his unfamiliar self and touched his face. 

When did he become like this? 

It seemed to be on the night when Jocelynn left, or perhaps at the moment of my regret. 

He tidied himself up a bit before going to the laboratory. 

Walking up to the laboratory entrance, Miranda smiled and stopped him, saying, “Senior brother, you haven’t had breakfast yet, have you? I brought breakfast for you.” 

She handed out the breakfast she had just bought in the cafeteria as if she had completely forgotten 

about what happened yesterday. 

Trevor remained silent with a cold expression. 

“I already had a girlfriend, and I wished that we could keep our distance. If I wanted to eat, I would 

buy it myself.” 

Miranda choked, her face frozen with a somewhat stiff expression. 

Trevor lifted his foot to walk, and she asked, “You haven’t been yourself lately, is it because of Jocelynn’s departure? Now that she’s gone, shouldn’t we be together openly and honestly?” 

Yesterday, when she returned, she had already figured it out. 

Trevor was restless because Jocelynn had disappeared. 

On the day she came back from Woodpond, Jocelynn completely left, and no one knew where she 

went.

“Was it you? Did you drive Jocelynn away? Did you say something to her?”

But she couldn’t help asking, “So, do you prefer Jocelynn?” 

Trevor looked at her without any hesitation. 

“From beginning to end, the one I liked was Jocelynn.” 

After saying that, he entered the laboratory. 

Miranda stood still for a moment, then smiled. 

I don’t know who was laughing, Jocelynn, Trevor, or myself. 

She immediately turned her back and tidied up her emotions when she saw other classmates walking towards the laboratory. She stood at the door for a while before entering. 

In the morning experiment, Trevor’s mind was filled with Jocelynn. 

He was also absent-minded when measuring the data, and when Ronald and other classmates were using the data for calculations, all the values were completely wrong. 

Ronald looked at the data on the computer and pointed out his mistakes one by one. 

“Trevor, the exposure of this shot was off, the RAW format was incorrect, and the values of this 

module were completely wrong…”

“Before, I always thought that you would continue to like Jocelynn, but after meeting Miranda, you 

changed. I thought you would break up with Jocelynn and be with her, but now that Jocelynn has left, you can’t bear to let her go.” 

Trevor paused for a moment, remaining silent for a long time. 

“From beginning to end, the only person I loved was Jocelynn.”
