Chapter 6
Before I could escape, my dad caught me.
He beat me until I could barely stand, taking all my documents from me.
He hit me like a madman, his eyes filled with uncontrollable rage.
“Little beast, I’ll kill you right now! You slut, I’ll teach you a lesson for disobeying me!”
I was like a piece of paper, helpless against his blows. My whole body was torn apart with pain, and I had
already given up.
The pain in my chest was so sharp, it even overwhelmed the physical agony.
The sound of him hitting me echoed in the room, and my sister and her husband, thinking a thief had broken
in, rushed out to check.
When they saw it was me being beaten, they just sighed with relief, choosing to walk away with indifference.
They stood there, looking at me with cold, hateful glares.
If I had begged them for help, they would have ignored me, just like before.
I was truly beyond hope.
So, I just laid there on the floor, letting Dad’s punches land on me, not even trying to escape.
I gritted my teeth, tears streaming down my face. “Dad, if you want me dead so badly, then just end it!”
He seemed stunned by my words but continued to beat me mercilessly.
Before I lost consciousness, I saw my sister and her husband laughing at me, tears in their eyes as they
laughed so hard they clutched their stomachs.
Their lips were moving, their expressions twisted with malice.
They even kicked my head, saying that if I died, I would never think about getting married again.
I really felt like this was the end.
In fact, maybe dying would be better. At least I wouldn’t have to suffer in this world anymore.
But when I woke up, I found myself in an unfamiliar place.
It was a rundown village, but the house I was staying in was relatively clean and tidy.
My whole body was wrapped in bandages, the scent of medicine filling the air. It seemed they had applied
treatment to me first.
I was still alive.

After a while, Officer Parker came into the room with a lunchbox. When he saw I was sitting up, he
immediately walked over to check on me.
“Good, you’re awake. This is a safe house set up by the police. As long as you stay here, no one can find you or disturb you. Can you tell me everything that happened?”
I was stunned. “How did you get me here?”
Officer Parker told me, “I was on patrol when I heard your screams. I broke the door open and saw you covered in blood on the floor. Your dad has already been taken to the station, and we’ll make sure justice is served!”
He was furious. “If we hadn’t gotten you to the hospital in time, you would have been dead!”
I thanked him.
Maybe heaven still wanted me to live.
Officer Parker looked at me in disbelief. “It looks like your father’s abuse wasn’t a one-time thing. You
could’ve sought help, or even contacted the police.”
I couldn’t help but scoff. “I’ve been trying to get help for a long time, but even when I called the police, my dad
blocked it.”
“Everyone around me vouches for my dad, saying he didn’t hurt me. They claim everything is my fault.”
At first, I complained to my relatives, but whenever they went into my dad’s study, they came out with hateful
glares, as if they wished me dead.
Whether it was past boyfriends or close friends, they all turned into the same people.
After every breakup, I even begged them to come back, but they were indifferent, telling me they never
wanted to see me again.
Even when I tried to run away, it was useless. My dad would catch me and beat me half to death.
That day, I told Officer Parker everything I had endured.
He cried with me, deeply affected by my pain, even clenching his fists in anger.
He promised me, “Don’t worry, no one will hurt you again! I’ll make sure your father is locked up, so he can
never harm anyone again.”
Soon, Officer Parker sent me home.
But he didn’t want to help me gather evidence, he really wanted to take me to live in his home.
Officer Wilson, who was responsible for escorting me, was confused.
“I wasn’t at the scene. But according to my colleagues, after Officer Parker escorted your dad home, he was

extremely angry and argued with hum
The was asking your father why he abused his daughter, but your dad wouldn’t confess He just smiled
When Officer Parker got so angry he punched the wall your dad suddenly ran off and locked himself in a
bedroom Officer Parker followed him inside.”
I knew it was the study
Like everyone else when Officer Parker came out of the study, his face was blank, like he had been
completely stunned
The other officers were waiting for him to issue orders, but he smiled and walked over to untie my dad.
It was all a misunderstanding. I just found out that Courtney was in a car accident recently, and the injuries
were from that not from her father.”
My dad was allowed to go home.
