Silver Moon Pack’s–lycans moved forth instantly, securing Adrian, Julian, and the sorceress in silver shackles meant to suppress all lupine strength.
It was only then that Adrian caught sight of several figures lingering at the back of the gathering. His features drained to an ashen white.
“Elder…”
The crowd parted. Multiple elders of the Obsidian Pack stepped forward; they had witnessed the entire sequence of events.
The Elder glanced at the soul–exchange runes etched on the stone floor, then at the maid’s frantic, deranged conduct, shaking with unbridled rage.
Kane brought the three culprits and the hound before them, his tone frigid.
“Obsidian Pack’s Alpha wielded banned sorcery to seize the vessel of a Silver Moon Pack member. Had Evelyn not uncovered their scheme beforehand, her body would have been snatched away.
“You must answer for this offence before Silver Moon Pack.”
Adrian struggled to raise his head.
“Everything I did served the Pack! If Lydia inherits Evelyn’s gifts, she will become the most formidable
Luna-”
“What right does she have to claim my flesh and my/powers?”
I stepped out from behind the crowd.
Every eye locked onto me. My fingers tightened, my heart hammering wildly, yet I kept advancing.
“Do you wonder how they mastered soul–transfer magic so thoroughly?”
I turned toward the Obsidian Pack elders and articulated each word slowly and clearly
“This is not the first time they have stolen another person’s body.”
All color vanished from Adrian’s face.
Julian seemed to grasp the terrible truth, staring at me in utter disbelief.
“I am not Evelyn.”
A heavy silence blanketed the hall.
“I am Cecilia. One year prior, they plotted alongside the sorceress to trap my spirit within Lydia’s frame, while she wore my face and stole my identity, my kin, and my betrothal.
“Later, to make the swap permanent, they drew my blood, locked me away, and even engineered my death

with their own hands.”
Julian went rigid.
“Cecilia…” His voice wavered.
I dared not glance back toward Leon, much less Kane.
I feared once they learned the original Evelyn had perished, they would see me as a monster who had hijacked her body.
Yet the next instant, two figures moved to stand behind me at once.
Leon steadied my trembling shoulders, while Kane threaded his fingers through mine..
They did not pull away.
Instead, they made plain to all present–I was not alone.
“That is not how it happened!”
Adrian pushed himself upright on his knees, bloodshot eyes fixed on me.
“I never wished for your death! I simply believed your fiery nature was unfit to be Luna. It was merely a body swap. I would still have cared for you.”
His words spilled out rapidly, as though mere explanations could reverse what had transpired.
“I love you!” Adrian strained against his restraints. “Cecilia, grant me one more chance! I can restore everything to you!”
“Can you truly give all of it back?”
Kane moved to stand before me, fully blocking Adrian’s line of sight.
Julian also dropped to his knees, tears streaming as he stretched a hand toward me.
“I only sought to soften your stubborn streak. I thought once you learned compliance, things would return to the old days. I am your brother. Cecilia, I love you. I never intended to lose you…”
I stepped backward, evading his reaching hand.
“If this is what you call love, I would rather never have known it.”
The Elder closed his eyes. When he opened them again, nothing but fury remained.
Following the public verdict from the elder council, Adrian was stripped of his Alpha rank. Together with Julian, his wolf abilities were sealed, and he was escorted to the dungeon to await the ultimate sentence.
The sorceress who aided their rituals received a lifelong prison sentence.
As for Lydia, no one would lift the curse binding her.

She would remain trapped eternally inside the black hound’s body, forced to watch a real dog occupy the life once hers.
Once the trial concluded, stood alone within the empty hall, hesitant to turn.
“I’m sorry,” I whispered. “The real Evelyn is gone, I do not understand why I awakened inside her body. If you cannot accept me, I may leave.”
Leon let out a quiet sigh.
“When fear grips you, you twist the edge of your garment. Evelyn never did that, I knew you were not her from your very first waking moment.”
I lifted my head, stunned. “Then why did you not expose me?”
“Because I recognized you were also a victim.”
Tears glistened faintly in his eyes. Then, like a true elder brother, he rested his palm gently atop my head.
“Once I learned what you endured, I only regret failing to shield you sooner.
“Now that you have survived, live for both her and yourself.”
With those words, he turned and departed, leaving Kane and me by ourselves.
Kane came forward and brushed the tears softly from my checks.
“I never loved this physical shell. It is your spirit that captivated me.”
He pulled out a silver band and dropped to one knee before me.
“Cecilia, will you claim your true name and become my mate?”
This time, I let no one else shape my destiny.
I reached out and grasped his hand, nodding through my tears
“I will.”
