The Lucan Marked Me - Chapter (72)

Chapter 72
Sienna
I was bored out of my mind.
Logan had left the mansion early to go attend to some pack duties, and I’d taken the time to tour round
the mansion. It was a really spacious building-more spacious than it appeared-and touring the house had
taken almost an entire hour.
Afterwards I proceeded to have a nap. Hours after I’d woken up, I’d easily made my way to the huge library
I’d discovered and picked up a few books to read, but now I wanted to do something else. It had started to
feel as though the mansion was closing on me, and memories of how things had gone the last time I’d
been here continuously kept flashing in my mind.
Staring at my reflection in the mirror, I made my way to my walk-in closet and grabbed a scarf and coat
before donning it and making my way downstairs. I checked the time on the wall clock in the living room,
realizing it would take at least an hour before Maurie would arrive at the mansion to make dinner. Plenty
of time to take a walk around the pack and still be back to give her a hand.
I tried to convince the warriors outside the mansion that I was completely fine on my own, but he insisted
on following the orders of the King. Realizing I wouldn’t be able to convince him, I let him follow me from
a distance. I didn’t have any place in mind at first, and I secretly hoped as I walked that I didn’t bump into
Logan.
Things between us had been getting… better. So much better that I was scared of losing myself in the
moment and getting used to having him around. He said he wanted to make things right between us, but I
wasn’t exactly sure why that entailed. The pack members seemed cool with my presence, but I wondered if
they really were on the inside.
And Logan…
My heart squeezed inside my chest as I finally made up my mind of what part of the pack I wanted to take a look at. I still wasn’t sure how to tell him the truth, especially since I knew it would change everything.
Elias was warming up to him. Hell, even I was warming up to him. If he threw us out of the pack after finding out the truth…
A small shudder rippled through me.

Chapter 72
I wasn’t sure what I was going to do.
Deep down, I knew Elias was safe. At least, safer than I was. He wouldn’t kick his own heir out of the pack
for belonging to an almost forbidden bloodline, right? Right? A cloud of sadness hovered above me as I
realized I didn’t have the answer to that question. Despite the time we’d spent in each other’s presence, I
didn’t know Logan well enough to guess what his reaction would be.
If he sent us out, if he chose his duty to the pack before me-again-we would leave. I wouldn’t fight hiny
and I wouldn’t beg. I wouldn’t even go back to Mara’s pack. I’ve already endangered her enough. No, we
would go somewhere so far and live such lowly lives, he would never be able to find us even if he wanted
- I drew in a deep breath.
Hopefully, it won’t come to that.
A wave of nostalgia washed over me as the shacks in the lower village came into view. A few Omegas were
walking around, surprise colouring their expressions when they saw me. They were probably wondering
what the Lycan King’s mate was doing in a place such as this. I wondered if any of them remembered I’d
also been confined to the shack once.
Probably not.
I hadn’t spoken to anyone while I’d been here, had barely even shown my face. And the Omegas were too
mindful of not getting into trouble to let themselves make decisions based on curiosity. I walked to where
my shack was supposed to be…
And found nothing.
A small frown overtook my face as I turned to the warrior behind me.
“Wasn’t there a shack here?” I asked, pointing at the empty spot where small bushes had begun growing..
He nodded, his eyes following the direction of my finger. “The King had ordered for it to be taken down a
few years ago, your highness,” I didn’t know what surprised me the most. Being addressed as ‘your
highness’ or knowing Logan had asked for the shack I stayed in to be destroyed. There was a weird subtle
pain in my chest. Was that how much he’d wanted me gone?
I turned my face away from the warrior, unwilling to let him see the emotions I was struggling to tamper down. I nodded at him, making a quiet decision as I stared at the other shacks-all in equally bad conditions. I knew exactly what I was going to do to keep myself busy for the next few weeks. I was going

to tear down all the shacks and have them rebuilt better and stronger.
urned and began heading back to the mansion.
When Logan came back home, I would have a discussion with him. I wished I could let it slide, but I knew I
would ask why he had ordered for my shack to be destroyed. And after we’ve had a conversation, I would
seek his permission to get to work in the lower village.
Maurie was already at the mansion and making dinner by the time I got back. I went upstairs to change
into something casual before stepping back down to help her out. I darted a glance at the clock in the
living room, realizing Logan would be back with Elias in a few minutes. He’d sent a message earlier
through the warriors letting me know he was going to pick him up from the academy and that they would
be back just in time for dinner.
“What are you making?” I asked Maurie as I secured an apron behind my back.
“Rice and vegetable sauce,” She replied.
I took a whiff of the aroma wafting through the air, already salivating at how good the meal would be. To
think that years ago, I’d been a rogue struggling to find food and water. I tied my hair up in a bun and was
just about to grab a knife when a knock sounded at the door.
Logan and Elias were back already.
