Sebastian’s POV 

Party Time 

I’m feeling so nervous-I can sense my mate nearby. 

“I can’t wait to meet her,” I tell my best friends, Tristan and Paxton. 

They both nod and reply, “Yeah man, I know exactly what you mean. I can feel my mate’s presence 

too.” 

This is the moment we’ve all been anticipating. 

The three of us made a pact to save ourselves for our mates-not all of us are womanizers like 

Cassian. 

Honestly, I pity whoever ends up as his mate. Maybe it’s my scandalous sister, Selene. 

They’d actually make the perfect match. I do love my sister, but she’s nothing like Skyla. 

Alright, here goes nothing. 

Time to walk into the ballroom. 

As soon as the doors swing open, my eyes go wide for two reasons. 

First, I’ve never seen Skyla look more stunning-she’s absolutely breathtaking. 

Second, I must be the luckiest wolf alive, because standing right beside her is my beautiful mate 

Skyla’s best friend, Alexia. 

I’ve always had a crush on her, and now I know-I already love her. 

At the same time, we softly whisper, “Mate,” and close the distance between us. 

I kiss her deeply, not caring that I now have her red lipstick smeared on my lips. 

I can’t wait to hold her close. 

Skyla beams at us, grinning from ear to ear, saying how thrilled she is that her best friend will be the Luna of our pack. 

I glance over to see Tristan with his arm around Veronica, while Paxton is locked in a passionate 

kiss with Eliza. 

Savannah is standing beside her mate.

Skyla’s POV 

Heads were turning, jaws dropping. 

Yeah, I know I look damn good in this dress, and I’m absolutely owning it. 

Neither Selene nor Cassian has shown up for the shifting ceremony yet. They’re probably off 

somewhere getting it on. 

I step outside, needing a breath of fresh air. 

I’m truly happy for my brother and all my friends… so why couldn’t I have a mate like theirs? 

Just as that thought crossed my mind, a chill ran down my spine. My breath caught when I felt a 

hand slide across the small of my back and a voice whispered in my ear, “My beautiful mate.” 

Disgusted, I spun around and slapped him hard. 

“Don’t ever touch me again,” I snarled. “Next time, I’ll rip your damn hand off.” 

He had the audacity to claim I was his mate and insisted he had the right to touch me. 

I looked him dead in the eye and said, “I will never be yours.” 

This fool-still reeking of my sister’s scent-had the nerve to ask me to forgive him and take him 

back. Said if he’d known I was this fine, he never would’ve rejected “a piece of ass” like me. 

Disgusted, I turned and walked back into the woods, ignoring his shouts and pathetic promises to 

win me back. 

I flipped him the middle finger and yelled over my shoulder, “NEVER!”-a smug smirk spreading 

across my face as I returned to the party. 

Once back among the trees, I spotted my skanky sister. She was wearing a dress that left absolutely 

nothing to the imagination. Her makeup was ruined, and tears streaked down her face. 

Turns out she’d just discovered her fated mate was one of our warriors, Zayden. 

But she’d rejected him. 

Why? Because Cassian told her that if she slept with him, he’d make her his chosen Luna. 

Only, now he’s told her the truth-he lied. 

Selene tried to go crawling back to Zayden, but he’d already found his second-chance mate.
