Iris leaned over to glance at the page, worried he might connect the dots if he was too sharp.
“I didn’t solve that myself. I was recreating the calculations from an amazing blogger online. That’s their username.”
Fortunately, Zero Degrees Institute maintained an official account that periodically shared detailed calculation processes like these. Even if Ares looked into it, he wouldn’t find anything suspicious.
“Zero Degrees Institute…” Ares nodded. “They’re truly impressive.”
Iris pretended to ask casually, probing him.
“Do you think Zero Degrees Institute has anything to do with Dr. Zero?”
“Not yet.”
The Institute was anything but ordinary.
On the surface, it was run by Xavier Hayes, but behind the scenes there was another remarkably capable person-a master of negotiations and operations. He had once tried to recruit that individual, but they were both cautious and fiercely loyal. To this day, he hadn’t even met them in person, nor uncovered a single piece of information about them.
As they talked, Iris never noticed how close she’d drifted to him.
They were still standing shoulder to shoulder, just as they had while looking over the papers.
Ares could smell the fresh jasmine scent of her shampoo. His heart had never raced like this before. It wasn’t the pounding that came from physical exertion. It was panic. Chaotic. Completely beyond his control.
He set the papers back onto the desk.
“We should head downstairs.”
Iris, meanwhile, was still thinking about how to get him more interested in the research institute. She didn’t notice the change in him at all.
She only realized that the hand holding hers felt unusually warm.
“Are you hot? Should I turn the air conditioner down?”
“No.”

Being around someone this oblivious helped slow Ares’s heartbeat a little.
The two of them chatted as they walked downstairs.
Chloe was nowhere to be seen.
Instead, Richard and Eleanor had just returned from their evening walk. Seeing that it was getting late, Ares took his leave.
Inside the car, the glow of the streetlights washed over his face, leaving his expression half- hidden in shadow.
“Did you find anything?”
Julian Cross glanced at the messages on his phone.
“We just got word. The person in charge of Zero Degrees Institute is scheduled to meet Professor Joe in two days. As for Xavier Hayes, he’ll be on duty at St. Grace Medical Center that same day.”
Could it be the person behind the scenes?
He remembered Professor Joe referring to the head of Zero Degrees Institute as Miss Zero.
What exactly was the relationship between this Miss Zero and the Dr. Zero he had been searching for? Siblings? Or the same person?
“Send me the address.”
One mystery at a time.
After the incident at the business dinner, Mr. Nick and his group had become noticeably more well-behaved and hadn’t caused Iris any trouble over the past few days.
In truth, it was because Ares’s people had already warned them. The heads of the three companies had personally informed Mr. Nick not to provoke people he couldn’t afford to offend.
Bella was still excited about everything that had happened that night.
“President Zero, your fiancé is so handsome!”
She wasn’t part of high society, nor did she pay attention to the business world. Combined with Ares’s usually low profile, she had no idea what an influential figure he really was.
She simply thought he was incredibly handsome-and unbelievably cool.

Chapter 121 The Tap-tap Answer
Finished
His demeanor was completely different from the relaxed way he usually chatted with Iris.
She knew that if she didn’t give him something today, he wasn’t going to leave.
Tap. Tap.
Iris knocked twice on the window.
Zane immediately understood. “Mr. Barclay, Miss Zero says you may ask your questions. One tap means yes. Two taps means no. You may only ask three questions.”
“All right.”
Three questions.
That was enough.
“The reason you won’t get out of the car and meet me… is because we’ve met before?”
Tap.
A Yes.
“Miss Zero, are you related to the legendary Dr. Zero?”
Тар. Тар.
The crisp sound of her fingers against the glass echoed inside the car.
Ares kept his eyes fixed on the spot where she had tapped before asking his final question.
“Did you lie in your answers to the first two questions?”
Tap.
“Yes.”
He had only been told he could ask three questions. No one had ever said she had to answer truthfully.
Ares chuckled softly.
“I understand now. Thank you, Miss Zero, for satisfying my curiosity. I look forward to seeing you again.”

The moment he saw her, he understood.
No wonder Professor Joe adored her as if she were his own daughter.
She was not only beautiful but also poised and well-spoken. The only thing was… she didn’t say very much.
Just as Iris and the others had taken their seats, they noticed a car pull up outside the
restaurant.
The license plate belonged to Ares Barclay.
“The place was actually recommended to me by Nathan,” Professor Joe said with a warm smile. “He told me young people these days love cafés like this-good atmosphere, perfect for taking pictures and checking in on social media. What do think?”

He studied Iris for a moment before smiling kindly. “You look like you’ve lost a little weight. Been busy lately?”
“Not too bad,” Iris replied. “Nothing too overwhelming.”
There wasn’t much at the institute that required her attention anymore. Most of her time was now devoted to handling Venus’s affairs.
The moment Iris spotted Ares Barclay’s car outside, her instincts told her it wasn’t a coincidence.
He was almost certainly here for her.
She quickly calculated the timing. If she left now, there was a ninety percent chance she’d run straight into him. And if luck wasn’t on her side, he’d even see her walking out of Professor Joe’s private dining room…
After checking the room number, Ares first rented the private room next door before heading upstairs.
He had a suspicion.
Now he just needed to confirm it.
Stopping outside the room, he grasped the doorknob and pushed the door open.
“Sorry, wrong room…”
