Chapter 56
Logan
“Yes, he is.”
Three words that made me more emotional than I’ve ever been before. She’d finally told him
about me. Relief surged through me, washing away the tension that had gripped my chest. I
didn’t want to overthink what her answer meant; whether or not she had finally decided for
them to return to the pack with me. She had confessed the truth about me, and for a few
minutes, that was enough.
My gaze shifted to the boy, his wide eyes mirroring a blend of curiosity and innocence. My
heart lurched in my chest. This wasn’t a dream after all. I actually did have a son. An heir. I
was grateful to the moon goddess for protecting him whilst I’d been in the dark about him for
so long, and deep down I knew I also had Sienna to thank for that. As stubborn as she could
be, I couldn’t deny she was also smart.
Too smart for her own good.
Because how hadn’t I found out about him all these years?
I cleared my throat, pulling myself out of my head. I doubled over until I was almost his
height. “What’s your name?” I asked, making my tone as gentle as I could manage. A stark
contrast to the way I’d spoken to his mother the last time I’d been in the pack. Guilt settled in
my chest.
He held onto Sienna’s hands, kicking one of his legs in the air. “Elias,” he answered a little
shyly.
“Elias,” I echoed with a nod. It was easily the perfect name. I took a few seconds to absorb
every detail of his face, committing it to memory-the curve of his jaw, the spark of innocence
in his eyes. “I’m Logan,” He nodded but didn’t respond, wordlessly letting me know Sienna had

already told him my name. “Would you mind if I spoke to your mother alone for a moment?’ I
asked politely.
He glanced at Sienna, silently seeking her approval. She offered a reassuring smile. “Go join
Mara in the garden, sweetheart.” He nodded and trotted off, leaving us enveloped in a silence
so thick it could be cut with a sword. For a few minutes we didn’t speak, just stood with our
eyes locked on each other. The words I wanted to say fought themselves in my throat.
I shifted my stance, slipping my hands into my pockets. I moved my gaze past her, staring at
the door before bringing my eyes back to hers. I almost smiled when I realized this was the
reason she had never invited me in. She didn’t want me to know there was a child living in the
cabin with them, or to pick up on Elias’s scent. I swayed on my feet. “Finally going to let me
in?” I asked with a casualness I didn’t feel, like her answer wouldn’t matter.
When it was in fact the opposite.
She hesitated, then turned around, opening the door. “Sure,” she replied, stepping inside and
letting me walk in with her. As she moved further into the house, she stretched out an arm. “I
know compared to the mansion, this isn’t much-
Before she could finish, I was closing the distance between us and pinning her against the
door. “Don’t say that,” I murmured, my eyes searching hers. “Please don’t think that. I acted
like an asshole. I’m sorry, I should have-”
She shook her head, tears welling up in her eyes. She brought her fingers to my lips, silencing
- “Don’t apologize,” She pleaded in a whisper. I held her fingers, bringing them to my lips.
Her tears fell. “I should never have kept-”
I crashed my lips down on hers, tasting the salt in her tears. God, I missed kissing her. She
wrapped her arms around her neck, burying her fingers in my hair and pulling harshly as we
poured all the words we couldn’t say into our kiss. I’m sorry. Please forgive me. I’m scared.
We’ve got this. I cupped her chin, slanting my lips again hers and pouring every ounce of
regret and longing and love into the moment. The world faded away, leaving just the two of

us, our hearts beating in sync.
I bit down on her lower lip, soothing the sting with my tongue. My cock grew rock hard when
her moan echoed in the quietness of the cabin. I ground my hips into hers. “Come back to the
pack with me.” I whispered against her lips. Just like that, the spell was broken. She pulled
away, putting some distance between us and trying to control her harsh breathing. Her eyes
lifted to mine.
