Chapter 61
Logan
I noticed the sun had dipped low, and realized how quickly time had gone by. Rising to my
feet and pulling Elias with me, we made our way over to Mara and Sienna. Elias’s cheeks were
flushed, a wide grin stretched across his face as he ran to his mother. “Mom, did you see that
move Dad taught me?” he called out, chest puffed proudly. I looked up just in time to catch
Sienna’s smile as she reached to ruffle his hair.
“I did, sweetheart. You were amazing.”
Mara rose from her spot beside Sienna, brushing off her skirt. She gave me a small nod in
acknowledgement, before turning to Elias. “Come on, let’s head back and get dinner started,”
she said, holding out her hand. Elias looked up at me, almost reluctant, and I gave him a small
nod.
“Go ahead, buddy. We’ll hang out together some other time.” With a final glance over his
shoulder, he let Mara lead him away. I stared at his back until he had disappeared from my
line of sight, leaving just me and Sienna behind in the quiet. I moved to sit beside her, and for
a while neither of us spoke. “I didn’t realize how much I needed this,” I said, staring into the
distance where Elias had vanished. “The… simplicity. Moments spent away from my pack.”
She drew her knees close to her chest, turning her head to look at me. Her expression was
unreadable, and I could tell I had more work to do if I wanted her to be completely relaxed
around me. Now that I thought about it, I had never created a space for her to feel safe with
me, even in the beginning. “I guess it has to get tiring at some point… the unending cycle of
performing your duties as King without having a little… fun.”
There was something whimsical in her tone. I turned to look at her fully, catching the way the
last bit of sunlight played in her hair. “I want to be a part of Elias’s life, Sienna.” My wolf
prodded at me to tell her the full truth. I covered her hand with mine, rubbing the back of her

palm with my thumb. “And yours,” I added softly.
:))
She stared down at where our hands had joined, and when her eyes met mine, she had finally gotten rid of the unreadable expression on her face. “I’m scared, Logan,” She admitted quietly. She unconsciously gave my hand a small squeeze. “I’m scared of the change. No change had ever been good for me,” She confessed. “At least not in the beginning.” I exhaled a deep breath, mulling her words over.
My pack members might be hesitant to welcome her at first, but I knew they would eventually come around. Especially when I made it clear I had already made my decision. As for the prophecy… the words of the seer came back to me. Who said Sienna wasn’t the person being talked about? After everything she had dealt with on her own… there couldn’t possibly be
anyone stronger than her.
“It’s okay for you to be a little frightened,” I finally murmured, cupping her cheek. I held her
eyes, bringing my face closer to hers. “But I’m here now, and I’m never leaving.” I finished, and
then I kissed her. Or maybe she kissed me. I didn’t care. The contact was gentle at first, but it
quickly became deeper. Hungry. Her hands found their way under my shirt, and mine tangled.
in her hair, tugging her closer until clothes felt like a ridiculous barrier we needed to get rid
I slipped my hand beneath the sweater she wore, pushing her bra up and cupping her breasts.
She stiffened and pulled back, a little breathless. I stayed close, touching her forehead with
mine. “I’m sorry,” I murmured, knowing I was going too fast. I just couldn’t seem to control
myself whenever I was around her.
She lifted her hand, pressing her finger to my lips. “No apologies.” She whispered back. “I
just… one step at a time.” She finished. I nodded, letting her fix clothes and hair before
pulling her up. I let her know I had to get back to the pack, and when she nervously asked
what day I would return…
My heart almost burst with joy.

I pinned her against a tree and kissed her until she couldn’t breathe, letting her know I would
be back the next day.
The courtroom was as silent as ever, as I sat before the Inner Circle. I’d called for a meeting
with them the second I’d stepped foot in the mansion; there was no use delaying any longer.
Their curious and concerned gazes bore into me, as they awaited the reason for their
unscheduled assembly. I clasped my hands together, placing them on the long desk.
“I have news that must remain within these walls,” I began, meeting each and everyone one of
their gazes. “I recently discovered Sienna had been pregnant at the time I had sent her away
from the pack.” Surprise had their eyes widening at my words. “Thankfully,” I said a bit more
softly, “she had decided to keep the baby.” Relief filtered into their gazes, and I could even
catch the faintest trace of smiles tugging at the corners of their lips.
I cleared my throat. “This information is not to leave this chamber. I carried on firmly, “We
cannot afford for it to reach the wrong ears.” I turned to Kael, his expression immediately becoming more attentive, knowing I was about to pass an order. “Kael, I need you to assign warriors to guard Sienna’s cabin. Not just surveillance, full protection”
He nodded, letting me know he was going to see to that before the end of the next day. I
scanned the room once more, ensuring my message had been received and understood. After giving them room to speak, I gave them a dismissive nod. “You can all leave,” I stated, drawing the meeting to a close. They gave their congratulations, and Nessa particularly hung around to
ask about my progress with Sienna.
I thought about the question she’d tried to casually ask, and I couldn’t help but grin.
I had a good feeling I would have her back in the pack soon.
