I stood amidst the bustling preparations in the pack square, trying to contain my excitement.
The aroma of roasted meat and freshly baked bread wafted through the air, mingling with the
scent of freshly cut flowers. Pups ran around laughing as they darted between tables, their joy
infectious. I took a deep breath, a peaceful feeling settling in my chest. When was the last
time the pack had been this happy? Today was a day of celebration, a day to welcome Sienna
and Elias back home.
Livia approached me with a clipboard in hand, her eyes scanning the square with practiced
precision before coming to meet mine. “We’ve arranged for the feast to begin at dusk,” she
informed me, her voice steady. “The singers are set up near the fountain, and the decorations
are nearly complete.” I nodded, appreciating her thoroughness.
“Excellent work, Livia. I commended, still looking around. “Let’s ensure everything is perfect
for their arrival.”
As we walked through the square, inspecting the arrangements, I couldn’t help but feel a swell
of pride. The pack had come together, a majority of our members actively contributing to the
preparations. It was a testament to our unity and the respect they held deep down for Sienna
and Elias. The thought warmed my heart. This was more than just a feast; it was a
homecoming.
While I knew there was still a grumbling few among the crowd, I was pleased the majority
were excited about their arrival. After ensuring all was in order, I quickly made my way to the
mansion. Maurie was bustling about, her excitement palpable. “Are the guest rooms ready?” I
inquired, watching as she flitted from one task to another. She nodded, her eyes shining. She
had approved of Sienna from the very first day she’d discovered she was my mate.
“Everything is set, your highness.” She informed me. “I’ve set up the child’s room and lined the

guest room closet with new towels and fresh sheets.”
I smiled, placing a hand on her shoulder. “Thank you, Maurie. Your attention to detail is
unmatched. She blushed, bowing subtly before disappearing down the hall to tend to other
tasks. As I took the staircase to my bedroom, I couldn’t help but hope Sienna would agree to
move into my room. I had asked Maurie to set up a room for her in case she didn’t want to,
but a part of me hoped she wouldn’t take it as moving too fast.
I walked into my bathroom, immediately turning on the shower. The warm water cascaded
over me, washing away the dust that had accumulated throughout the day. As I stood under
the stream, I couldn’t help but imagine what it would be like having Sienna living under the
same roof as me. We’d never had that, even in the beginning. I quickly finished my shower,
dried off, and dressed in a crisp shirt and dark trousers, wanting an outfit befitting for the
occasion.
I ran a brush through my hair, staring at my reflection in the mirror. I liked the man staring
back at me. I headed downstairs, just in time to catch Maurie heading for the kitchen after
watering the plants in the living room. Taking matters into my own hands, I asked her to show
Sienna to my room when it was time to do so after they’d arrived. I stepped out of the
mansion and headed to the square.
Stepping onto the square grounds, I was greeted by the sight of Kael and Nessa overseeing the
final touches of the welcome preparations. The square was adorned with decorations, the
aroma of delicious food wafting through the air. I walked up to them, offering a grateful nod
to acknowledge their hard work. “I’m entrusting the welcome party to you both. Please ensure
everything proceeds smoothly.”
“Understood, Alpha,” Kael responded.
“We’ll make sure everything is perfect,” Nessa added with a reassuring smile.
Satisfied, I gathered a small preselected group of warriors and set out to retrieve Sienna and
Elias. It didn’t take us long to get there. Upon arrival, we found them ready, their belongings.

neatly packed. Elias and Sienna were holding hands, their eyes shining suspiciously. I pressed
my lips together, knowing this was going to be a huge change for them. I was asking them to
move from a place that had easily become home to them. Elias didn’t know what to expect of
my pack, and Sienna…
I met her eyes.
She couldn’t possibly have good memories of the pack either. Mara was standing beside them
with the saddest expression I’d seen on her face. “It’s time,” I said quietly, watching as they
said their goodbyes. I had talked to Sienna about Mara moving to the pack with them, but she
had said she didn’t think Mara wanted to move yet. My heart ached as Sienna and Elias both
gave her right hugs before reluctantly pulling themselves from her.
One could easily tell they’d shed a few tears before now. I walked to Mara as my warriors went
to work picking up Elias’s and Sienna’s bags and hurling them over their shoulders. I gave her
a small nod. “I can’t thank you enough for everything you’ve done, I informed her quietly.
“The love and support you’ve shown them means more than words would ever be able to
express,” I said sincerely.
Her eyes brimmed with tears but she didn’t let them fall, managing a small smile as she subtly
dabbed the corner of her eyes. “Take care of them,” she replied simply, her voice thick with
emotion.
I nodded, before saying, “My warriors will be here tomorrow to begin rebuilding your cabin.”
A look of gratitude filtered into her expression. “Thank you,” she said softly.
I accepted her hug and gave Sienna and Elias room to say their final goodbyes before we
began our journey back to the pack.
Amidst the heavy silence that settled upon as we journeyed, I couldn’t deny that there was a
flare of hope.
