The moment I stepped into the pup academy, Naya’s eyes immediately found me.
For a split second, she looked as though she had been expecting someone else. But the moment she realized it was me, the warmth vanished from her expression, replaced by a resentment far too deep for a child her age.
I walked toward her slowly.
Before I could say a word, she threw her little hands up and began shouting.
“I don’t want my aunt! I want my dad! I want my uncle!”
At the mention of her dad, a flicker of coldness passed through my eyes. She had almost let something slip, and I wasn’t about to ignore it.
“Your uncle doesn’t want you anymore.”
The color drained from Naya’s face.
“You… you’re lying!”
“Why would I lie to you?” I asked calmly. “Your uncle sent me here to handle your withdrawal from the academy. After that, I’ll be sending you and your mother back to Mooncrest pack.”
The moment the words left my mouth, Naya’s face crumpled.
She burst into tears.
A child crying would normally tug at anyone’s heart, but I remained unmoved. If Naya hadn’t stolen my mother’s heirloom jewelry, I wouldn’t have received that slap from Logan in the first place.
And I wasn’t going to be fooled by her innocent appearance.
Naya might have been young, but she already knew how to manipulate situations, act innocent, and make someone else take the blame for her actions.
She was becoming a miniature version of Celine.
Her cries quickly attracted the attention of her homeroom teacher, who approached us and greeted me before glancing worriedly at Naya.
After I explained the situation, the teacher tried to persuade me not to withdraw her immediately.

“understand your concerns,” she said gently, “but I really don’t recommend taking her out of the
academy. If she leaves now and later wants to return, she’ll have to take the entrance examination again and go through the admission process from the beginning.”
I was still speaking with her when something caught my attention through the glass window.
Naya had stopped crying.
She was slowly making her way toward us, both hands hidden behind her back.
I narrowed my eyes.
Through the glass, I caught a glimpse of what she was hiding.
A toy filled with sand.
A cold smile tugged at the corner of my lips.
So she was planning something.
I said nothing.
I simply waited.
The moment Naya raised the toy and flung the sand toward us, I swiftly stepped behind the teacher.
The sand flew past me.
It didn’t miss its intended target.
It landed directly on the teacher.
She let out a startled scream as some of the sand got into her eyes. She immediately covered them with her hands, blinking rapidly as she struggled to clear her vision.
When she finally lowered her hands and turned toward Naya, the little girl stood completely frozen.
“Anaya, what are you doing?!”
Logan and Celine came rushing towards us.
I remained where I was, watching quietly. The teacher stood in front of me, desperately wiping at her reddened eyes, while Anaya stood nearby with sand still scattered across her floor..
The scene was almost enough to make me smile. Not because I found the situation amusing, but because I knew exactly what would happen next.

Legan immediately rushed toward Anaya, pulling her close as he checked her over. Celine, however,
was more concerned with glaring at me.
“Did you deliberately instigate Anaya?” she demanded. “Anaya is usually so well-behaved. How could she possibly throw sand at her teacher?”
Her accusation hung in the air.
Logan slowly lifted his eyes toward me.
There was suspicion in his gaze, sharp and questioning, as though he were waiting for me to reveal
something I had supposedly done.
I held his stare without flinching.
“Logan, you know Anaya has never liked me, even though I’m her aunt.” My voice remained calm as I
glanced briefly at the little girl before looking back at him. “If what Celine is saying is true and I somehow instigated this, do you honestly think Anaya would have listened to me?”
Logan said nothing.
The silence that followed told me enough.
He knew my words made sense.
Before he could question Anaya or try to piece together what had happened, the teacher suddenly lifted her head. The anger in her eyes had replaced the tears, and without saying another word, she
turned and stormed out of the room.
Everyone exchanged confused glances.
A few moments later, she returned with one of the pack elders, an older wolf whose presence immediately made the atmosphere heavier.
“I’m sorry,” the elder said, his expression stern. “But Anaya has to leave.”
My eyes widened slightly.
They were expelling her.
Logan stepped forward at once, trying to reason with the elder and the teacher. His voice remained respectful, but I could hear the desperation underneath it. He pleaded his case for several minutes before eventually offering them a generous gift.
Apparently, money was enough to keep Anaya’s place for the moment.
Or so Logan thought.

He left believing the matter had been settled, probably reassuring himself that after spending so much money, there was no way the Academy would cause any further trouble.
He was wrong.
One day later, Anaya was expelled.
I was standing outside the pack house when I heard voices coming from inside. I recognized Logan’s
and Celine’s immediately, so I stopped before entering.
“What’s the use of arguing with me?” Logan sounded exhausted. “Do you want the elders to think I’m showing favoritism? Besides, the elder said the Academy revoked Anaya’s enrollment because of your
bad credit.”
There was a brief silence.
Then Celine scoffed.
“You actually believe their nonsense? When has my credit score ever been bad?” Her voice rose with every word. “It must be Ava. She’s behind this.”
“What does this have to do with Ava?” Logan snapped. “Now that Ava has finally agreed to reinstate
you, can you please stop making trouble?”
“So I’m the unreasonable one now?”
Celine’s voice cracked.
“You’re always defending Ava. Everything you say somehow turns into defending her, yet you still expect me to believe you haven’t fallen in love with her?”
I heard the bitterness in her voice, and the corner of my lips lifted.
Before Logan could answer, the worker I had sent for my coffee arrived.
“Luna,”
I took the cup from him with a polite nod.
Then I walked into the pack house.
Both of them immediately turned toward me.
I took a slow sip of my coffee, letting the silence stretch between us. Celine’s expression darkened the moment she saw me, while Logan looked as though he had been caught in the middle of something he desperately wished I hadn’t heard.

Lsimply smiled.
For some reason, the coffee tasted better than usual.
I turned my attention to Seline.
“What are you doing here?”
Her face twisted with disbelief.
“What do you mean, what am I-”
“This isn’t where you should be.”
My voice remained calm, almost indifferent, which only seemed to make her angrier.
I took another sip before continuing.
“Go to the Gamma’s territory and begin your work.”
Celine stared at me as though she couldn’t believe what she was hearing.
I met her gaze without blinking.

“And if you don’t want to work in this pack house anymore, you’re free to find another job.”
Neither of them had a chance to respond.
I turned and walked out.
Once I was outside, I glanced down at the cup in my hand. After everything I had just heard, I suddenly
had no desire to finish it.
With a small frown, I deliberately tipped the remaining coffee onto the ground.
I wiped my lips with the back of my hand and took one last look at the pack house behind me.
Then I walked away.
I had somewhere much more important to be.
Alpha Kion.
