The Rejected Luna’s Secret - Chapter (3)
Ch. The Rejected Luna’s Secret 3 The Rejected Luna’s Secret 3
Chapter 3
She deliberately stretched out the last syllable as she spoke.
Joshua’s expression turned icy. “This was just a coincidence. Drop it.”
But Sarah Grant stomped her foot, pretending to be annoyed. “Seriously, honey? How could you say
that?”
“Allison used to be my Luna, remember? She’s clearly not doing great. What’s wrong with helping
her out?”
She leaned in and kissed Joshua on the cheek. “Didn’t you say you’d always support whatever I
asked?”
I knew exactly what this whole act was for, she was putting on a show.
I calmly took off Joshua’s jacket and handed it back to her. “You’ve misunderstood. I’m doing just
fine.”
Just like Joshua, her gaze lingered on my clothes.
I caught her meaning instantly.

“This was a birthday gift from my mother,” I said. “I haven’t had the heart to throw it away.”
Joshua’s brows furrowed. He remembered. Of course he did.
The day I fell from the cliff… was my birthday.
That day, he had left me emotionally unstable and alone in the packhouse, so he could perform at
the Alpha Ball with Sarah.
And because she had a low blood sugar episode, he took every single maid and warrior from the
house to be on standby for her at the event.
It was my mom who got worried and came looking.
She found me, who knows when I had wandered out of the territory, lying at the bottom of a cliff.
The only thing I remembered was her wrapping this jacket around me, her voice choked with tears.
“Allison, why would you do something so foolish?”
“Open your eyes. Look, this was your birthday present!”
“You still have me, sweetheart.”

“My silly girl, I told you long ago, don’t choose Joshua.”
“Please wake up. I only have you left.”
Later, after I broke the mate bond with Joshua, my mother was furious.
She left to confront him but never made it. A car accident took her away before she could even get
there.
Joshua blinked and let out a long breath, like he’d just remembered how to feel guilty.
Trying to change the subject, he said, “Allison, Sarah only said that because she cares.”
“So, where are you working now?”
“If you don’t mind, I could speak to my pack and-”
“Violin teacher,” I cut him off calmly.
“One of my students at Hawthorne just won first place in the national youth violin competition this
year. I was her teacher.”
I couldn’t perform on stage anymore, not with these hands. But I could still teach.
What they didn’t know was that I was now one of the world’s top violin instructors.
People lined up outside my door just for a chance to learn from me. Most were turned away.
And my daughter? She was my best student.
That violin they’d seen? It was one I’d bought for her, to use during her private training at the
academy.
When I said that, Joshua visibly relaxed, like something had finally clicked.
Maybe now he understood why I had written Hawthorne’s address on that note.
But Sarah’s smile froze for a moment. “Well, that’s great. Congratulations, Allison.”
“Although, youth competitions don’t really carry much weight.”
“Not like those national awards back in the day…”
She didn’t finish her sentence.
But I smiled.
“You’re right. Those national awards… you probably remember them quite well, don’t you?”

“Especially the one you won with someone else’s sheet music.”
Sarah went stiff. She turned toward Joshua, her voice soft and pitiful.
“Honey, after all these years, Allison still thinks I stole -”
“Didn’t you?” Linterrupted coldly. “Didn’t you steal everything from me?”
