The Rejected Luna’s Secret - Chapter (8)
Ch. The Rejected Luna’s Secret 8 The Rejected Luna’s Secret 8
Chapter 8
Before I could answer, I was suddenly yanked backward by a powerful force.
Sarah had shown up at some point.
Her eyes were bloodshot as she screamed, “Allison, you just can’t stop stealing, can you?”
“First my violin compositions, now my man. You want faine? Fine. I’ll give it to you.”
She whipped out her phone and started a livestream.
“I don’t care if you’re Alpha Adam’s Luna! You try to steal my husband, I’ll ruin you!”
Adam’s face turned to stone.
He kicked her hard, sending her stumbling. “You think you can touch what’s mine, right in front of me? You’ve got some nerve.”
Sarah let out a laugh, eyes manic.
“I’m Sarah Grant, a violin prodigy turned pop sensation, now the Luna.”
“I’ve got millions of fans. You really think you can do anything to me while I’m live?”
But her smugness faded fast. “Wait, what’s going on? Why is there no signal?”
Adam’s voice was low and sharp. “If my beta can’t even jam a livestream, then he doesn’t deserve to
be my beta.”
Sarah stared at him in disbelief.
Of course. Without power and control, how could Adam be the Alpha of the strongest pack in the werewolf realm?
But none of it mattered to me.
All I cared about was Hailey. She shouldn’t have to watch adults tear each other apart like this.
I hugged her tightly. “Let’s go home. We’ll deal with them later.”
I had just turned to leave when Joshua let out a long sigh.
“Allison… I’m sorry.”
I didn’t stop walking. “It’s fine,” I said casually.
He stared at me, stunned. “Allison, you’ve changed.”

But I hadn’t changed. He’d just stopped mattering.
Whether I forgave him or not, it no longer meant a thing.
He was part of the past, and there was no way back.
Joshua tried to follow, but Adam suddenly let go of my hand, turned around, and punched him hard
in the face.
The crack echoed through the parking lot.
“That was for Allison,” Adam growled.
“And if you ever bother Allison or my daughter again, I’ll make sure you disappear from Maple Bay for good.”
“Got it?”
A few days later, the violin competition show Luminous Melody finally premiered.
As the mystery judge, I had been planted on stage, disguised as the show’s “tuning assistant”.
It’s a little surprise twist for the audience.
It was the hook of the season. On premiere night, the studio was packed.
I wore a plain uniform, with a mask and cap, silently adjusting violins at the edge of the stage.
Sarah, seated proudly at the judges’ table, carried herself like royalty.
The first contestant walked on stage, ready to perform.
But just as they lifted their violin, Sarah stood abruptly. Her voice was sharp and high.
“Wait. Who’s that tuning the violin?”
The director rushed over. “Sarah, she’s just a professional we hired for backstage support-
Before he could finish, Sarah marched on stage and tore off my mask.
“Allison?!”
“I knew it! It really is you!”
Whispers broke out across the audience. Some people recognized me.
“Isn’t that the one who plagiarized Luna Sarah back in the day?”
“What’s she doing here? How does she even have the nerve to show up?”

Seeing I didn’t respond, Sarah got bolder.
She raised her voice, making sure the livestream caught every word.
“Everyone, this is Allison Lowell, the one who stole my original composition!”
“She’s manipulative, jealous, and she doesn’t belong here.”
“She’s only here to sabotage the competition!”
Someone in the audience stood up and yelled, “Shameless!”
“She was jealous of Luna Sarah then, and she’s clearly jealous now.”
“Call the cops! Get her out of here!”
Backstage, the director was frantically waving for Sarah to stop, but she misunderstood and thought he was encouraging her.
Her expression grew smug.
Then she yanked off my gloves. I didn’t have time to react.
The scars on my hands flashed on the screen.
Sarah gave a bitter laugh. “Look at those hands. Hideous, aren’t they?”
“Allison, you’re ugly on the outside, and even uglier on the inside.”
She leaned in, whispering with venom. “So what if you’re Alpha Adam’s Luna?”
“Once the public sees who you really are, how long do you think you’ll last?”
“You’ll end up just like before, rejected, cast out, and humiliated by your Alpha.”
Just as I opened my mouth to respond, a voice cut through the tension. “Sarah.”
It was Joshua. As one of the show’s sponsors, he was seated in the VIP box.
I thought he’d stand up for Sarah. I was wrong.
He walked down the aisle and stood directly in front of the camera.
“Allison didn’t steal anything,” he said clearly.
“I lied.”
