I was pulled into the car. 

Drake’s expression was still dark. 

Ever since our unpleasant parting, he’d been waiting for me to come to him with an apology. After all, that’s what I’d always done before. 

But this time, he’d waited a full three days without hearing from me-not even a text message. This sparked an unfamiliar anxiety in him. 

It felt like something he deeply cared about was slipping away, out of his control. 

So he’d immediately gone to the Parker house, wanting to see me with his own eyes. 

As if having me in his line of sight would silence that strange alarm in his heart. 

But I wasn’t at home, and the staff all claimed not to know where I was. 

So Drake drove around the city searching every street until he finally spotted me at the hospital 

entrance. 

Looking at me in his rearview mirror, seeing me within arm’s reach again, the unease in his heart gradually faded. 

But during the entire drive, I remained completely silent, not speaking even half a word to him. In the past, this would have been unthinkable.

Drake’s panic returned with full force. He impulsively slammed on the brakes, stopping the car in the middle of the road. 

Although there wasn’t much traffic on the way to the Parker estate, I was startled and instinctively grabbed his sleeve. 

Seeing me still so dependent on him, Drake’s panic finally gave way to satisfaction. 

But his expression revealed nothing as he spoke condescendingly: 

“Since you know you were wrong, give your social media account to Amber.” 

Suddenly I understood exactly why Drake had come looking for me. 

I’d loved painting since childhood. Even after being sent to Vermont, without any teachers or often unable to afford proper supplies, I’d still practiced every day with just a pencil. 

To motivate myself, I’d created a social media account under the name “Wild Rose,” posting all my artwork. 

My unique painting style and technique quickly attracted thousands of followers. Even the internationally renowned Master Montgomery had sent me an invitation. 

Master Montgomery was a legend in the art world-his invitation was essentially offering to make me his personal apprentice! 

But before I could even contact him, Amber had tearfully declared that she also wanted to study under Master Montgomery. 

Of course, someone like Master Montgomery wouldn’t just take on any student. 

Unsurprisingly, even though the Parkers threw money at the situation, the Master wouldn’t budge. 

I’d thought Amber had given up, but apparently, she’d enlisted Drake as her advocate! 

Drake was still rambling on: 

“Your account is anonymous anyway. If you just hand it over to Amber, Master Montgomery will definitely accept her as his student.” 

“Amber is incredibly talented in painting. If she can study with Master Montgomery, she’ll definitely become a world-famous artist someday!” 

Looking at the unconscious pride on Drake’s face, I couldn’t help but ask: 

“And what about me?” 

Master Montgomery hadn’t taken on a student in decades. This was likely my only chance-once missed, it would probably never come again. 

“You?” 

Drake gave me a strange look. “I’ve already promised to marry you. You’ll be my wife. That’s already settled-what more do you want?” 

I felt like I was hearing the world’s biggest joke: 

“Not happening!” 

My determined tone made Drake falter: 

“What did you say?” 

“That account-I will NOT give it to Amber!” 

Looking at the nearly hateful expression in my eyes, Drake felt a surge of anger: 

“Listen, Violet, I know all your passwords. So you’ll hand it over whether you want to or not!”
