He stayed outside the intensive care unit day and night without sleeping. 

When his men brought food, he didn’t even look at it. 

The doctors urged him to rest, but he ignored them completely. 

The once sharp eyes were now bloodshot, locked on my pale, lifeless face. 

Seeing this, the head of the medical team finally spoke up. 

“We’ve already used the best equipment and technology available worldwide… but it’s been over a month.” 

“If Mrs. Reed doesn’t wake up soon, she may fall into a permanent vegetative state.” 

The words hit Alexander like a hammer, shattering the last sliver of hope in his chest. 

He clutched at his heart as sharp pain tore through him, coughing up blood before collapsing into 

unconsciousness amidst the panicked shouts around him. 

In his coma, he sank into a series of haunting dreams. 

He saw our wedding-me in a white gown, smiling so brightly, so full of joy. 

The sunlight that day was beautiful, and my eyes were filled with light. 

He saw me saving him over and over again, risking everything for him.

Those warm memories flashed before him one by one-until they froze on an ultrasound image. 

It was our child, the one who had died only three months into the pregnancy.
