The Lucan Marked Me - Chapter (88)

Chapter 88
Sienna
I’d messed up.
Mara had tried to warn me, hadn’t she? She’d told me time and time again to come clean with Logan about
mine and Elias’s powers but I hadn’t listened. I’d known from the start that stalling and acting like a
coward would only make the situation worse and yet it was exactly what I’d done because it had been the
easier option. Now he’d found out the worst way possible, by himself.
I gauged the look in his eyes, and my heart splintered in two. God, would I be able to fix this? Unlike
before when he’d kept his emotions hidden behind a stoic mask, now he was letting me see the extent of
his hurt and his rage. I parted my lips but no words would come out. He wouldn’t even repeat his question
despite my struggling silence, that was how pissed he was. “Logan-”
“How much of a bitch can you be?”
I flinched. A part of me wished he’d yelled the words, instead of saying them in that dangerous tone I was quickly realizing cut more than anything else. “I’m sorry,” I apologized quickly, but not sincerely. There was no use trying to explain or justify my actions. I’d fucked up. Badly. I’d hurt him, just the same way I’d been
hurt when he’d sent me out of the pack. Maybe even more. I’d kept something so important from him,
despite knowing he was fighting to mend our relationship.
And all after hiding his son for him for years.
He was absolutely right.
How much of a bitch could I be?
He pushed away from the table he was leaning on and took a menacing step towards me. “You’re sorry?” He
asked, his voice deceptively calm. “You’re sorry?” He repeated, the pain in his voice slicing through my
heart. “What exactly are you sorry for?” He feigned confusion. “Let’s see… Could it be that you’re sorry for
keeping such important information about my heir from me? Or for strongly holding onto the things I’d done in the past when you were guilty of a sin just as much as I was?”
I took a frightened step back when he continued prowling towards me. My reaction seemed to anger him
even more, and I hadn’t thought that was possible.

Chapter 88
I didn’t think he would hit me, but he looked so mad I feared he could do something just as hurtful. ‘Or maybe, he growled, caging me against the door with his hands. “Maybe you’re sorry for roping my son into your stupid charade. Maybe you’re sorry for putting him in a hard position time and time. Maybe you’re sorry for causing him to lie to his father!” He was yelling on top of his voice now. “Tell me, Sienna! Which is it? Which are you fucking sorry for?”
A sob racked through me.
I turned my face to the side, unable to withstand the weight of his anger. Hot tears streamed down my
cheeks. God, he must hate me now. Pain scythed through my chest at the thought. “Fuck! He yelled,
slamming his fist beside my head before taking giant strides backwards and putting some distance between
- I slapped my hand against my mouth but it did nothing to contain my guttural sobs.
I hid my face in my hands, reaching behind me in search of the doorknob. I didn’t wait for him to realize
what I was up to. I twisted the doorknob and fled down the hallway. I heard a curse escape him. I ran all
the way to my bedroom, slamming the door behind me and leaning against it. I fisted my hand and
brought it against the door over and over again. Why was I such a coward? Even now, I couldn’t face him.
My head hurt, my face was wet with tears and snot, my cries were ugly and audible.
I was so sorry for hurting him, and yet I couldn’t properly apologize. I couldn’t stand his rage. I hadn’t
realized how much I couldn’t take him hating me. How much-
The door got pushed open with so much force I flew away from it. I raised my red eyes to his, blinking
through the tears to sharpen my blurry vision. He gripped my arms and shook me. “What the fuck is wrong
with you?”
“I’m sorry!” I yelled, my entire body shaking with the strength of my sobs. Sniffing, I wiped the tears from
my eyes and forced myself to get a grip. “Gods, I’m so sorry Logan. I swear it,” I held my chest as pain
seared a hole through me. This couldn’t hurt alone. “Please don’t hate me,” I begged, the tears falling
again. “I’m so sorry. I was selfish and cruel and I didn’t think-”
“Do you also have them?” He cut in, silencing me.
I paused, struggling to grasp his meaning for a second.
He was asking if I also had Elias’s abilities?
I nodded. “Yes, I do.”

Chapter 88
Hurt flashed across his face before he masked it. “Show me,” he said simply.
niffed, looking around for what I could levitate. I spied the book resting on my nightstand and stretched
my arm, raising it and keeping it suspended in the air for a few seconds before gently bringing it down and
turning to him. He pressed his lips together, nodding at me. “What bloodline are you of?” He asked.
“Eldryn,” I whispered. And then because I desperately wanted to get it over with, I softly added. “Mara too.”
A small curse left his mouth and then he was dragging his hand down his face. He didn’t say a word, just
turned and exited the room. I stood frozen, staring at the closed door and willing him to walk back and
hold me in his arms and assure me everything was going to be fine between us. When he didn’t, I fell to
the ground.
And then the tears returned.
