Chapter 10

Joshua’s fingers stiffened.

He trembled as he took the report.

And the moment he saw the words “not consistent with paternity,” his entire body seemed to lose all strength.

A bitter smile tugged at his lips.

He kept smiling, and through the smile, tears slipped down his face.

“So… it really is not… Allison, you truly do not love me anymore.”

At that moment, several pack enforcers entered the studio.

“Alpha Joshua, regarding the incident of taking a minor without permission, we need you to cooperate with the investigation.”

Joshua looked at me. Eventually, he nodded and followed them out.

The studio soon returned to order. Even though my identity had been revealed, the episode still wrapped up smoothly.

Because of the incident, Luminous Melody’s ratings skyrocketed to number one.

That night, hashtags like “the fullmoon pack’s Luna” and “violin prodigy Lady A” dominated the werewolf social platform’s trending list.

Every post was speaking up for me.

Sarah, once the celebrated “violin prodigy,” instantly became a disgrace, chased out of every discussion.

When I got home, I looked up at Adam. “You planned this from the start, didn’t you?”

“You let the production team bring Sarah in as a judge just to make things right for me?”

Adam gently tapped my nose with a playful smile. “Nothing gets past you.”

“She owed you, and I wanted her to repay it piece by piece.”

Warmth spread through my chest. I rose on my toes and kissed him lightly. A few days later, news came from the bloodmoon pack.

Several elders opposed Joshua continuing as Alpha and voted Adam in as the new leader. Adam handled things swiftly.

Within a week, he removed Joshua from the pack. One day, I was in the classroom teaching Halle, how to play the violin.

Her small fingers danced across the strings, filling the room with crisp notes.

“Mommy, is this right?” Hailey tilted her head and asked.

“Perfect.” I gently ruffled her hair. “Try again, and watch your pressure.”

Just then, I caught a familiar figure standing quietly by the door. It was Joshua.

He stood there, watching me and Hailey without saying a word. I did not respond.

I simply continued teaching my daughter until he eventually turned and left. I thought that would

be the last time I saw him.

But the next day, the pack enforcer called.

“Luna Allison, we found a male body in front of your mother’s tombstone.”

“We need you to come identify it.”

A chill went through me. When I arrived, the corpse had already been covered with a white sheet.

I lifted the cloth and saw Joshua’s pale face.

His hands were gripping two things. In his left hand was a confession letter.

He had written down, in detail, how he killed Sarah. Her body, according to the letter, was still

inside their home.

In his right hand was a necklace.

I recognized it. It was the first gift he had ever given me.

“Allison, do you want to handle the funeral arrangements?” the enforcer asked softly.

“No.” I shook my head. “I do not know him. Do whatever you need to.”

He paused, then nodded. “Understood.”

They carried Joshua away. I turned toward my mother’s grave, knelt down, and gently wiped the

dust from the tombstone.

“Mom,” I whispered. “I am happy now.”

“I have a mate who loves me, and a wonderful daughter.”

“I reclaimed my dream, and I received the justice I deserved. Mom, you can rest peacefully.”

The autumn wind swept through, carrying the falling leaves across the ground.

I stood up and looked at my mother’s photo on the stone.

A smile touched my lips. The pain of the past had finally settled into dust.

I walked away from the pack cemetery.

In the distance, Adam stood next to the car with Hailey’s hand in his.

The moment she saw me, Hailey broke free and ran straight toward me.

“Mommy!”

I opened my arms and pulled her tightly into my embrace. Adam walked over and wrapped his arm

around my shoulders.

“Let’s go home,” he said softly.

I nodded and followed them toward the future that belonged to us.

The autumn leaves swirled around us, and at long last, my life stepped into spring.

Chapter 1

Blair’s POV

I’ve been Christian’s Luna for five years.

But he never marked me. Never sealed the mate bond with me.

Every time I brought it up, he’d brush me off with a smile. “Blair, I’m too busy. Pack matters are piling up. Sealing the mate bond? What difference does it make?”

And I believed him. I always did. Until today.

I saw it with my own eyes-Christian, standing before the pack elders, sealing the mate bond… with my twin sister Carrie, the one who vanished five years ago.

In that moment, my wolf let out a low, guttural growl inside me, her claws tearing at my heart.

Carrie’s eyes were red with tears as she threw herself into his arms, gripping the bond-sealing

contract tightly.

“Christian, it was my fault… I left you at the altar…” Her voice trembled. “I know you’re only agreeing to this because I have cancer. But I still have to ask-after all these years, did you ever forget me? Did you actually fall in love with Blair?”

He was silent for what felt like a century.

I stood nearby, my nails digging deep into my palms. Blood trickled down my fingers. Even my wolf

was trembling.

“No,” he finally said, voice cold as a winter frost. “Never.”

Carrie instantly broke into tears of joy. She rose on tiptoe and kissed him.

And him… his hand hovered for a moment-then settled on her waist, deepening the kiss.

“No-!”

My wolf let out a furious roar. A violent storm surged through my veins. My fingertips went numb, my bones tensing until I could feel my claws threatening to break through skin.

But none of them looked my way. Not even once.

Beeeeeeep-

A car horn blared, sharp and sudden. I jerked my head up.

Three black Maybachs pulled up nearby. Out stepped the three Alphas of the Bloodstone Pack-my

three older brothers: Lysander, Orion, and Zayden.

“The bond-sealing deal’s signed? Mate bond sealed too?” Zayden clapped his hands. “Great

Restaurant’s booked. Let’s go celebrate.”

Cold seeping into my bones like I’d been thrown into an Arctic sea.

These were the same brothers who made me breakfast this morning with their own hands.

Carrie sobbed as she ran into their arms, like a little girl finally returning home. “I thought… I

thought you all didn’t want me anymore…”

The three of them exchanged glances, their expressions complicated. In the end, Zayden reached out and ruffled her hair, tone indulgent like always. “Silly girl. You’ve been causing trouble since you were little. When have we not cleaned up your mess?”

Carrie wiped her tears away and looped her arms through theirs like it was second nature. The four

of them walked into the cars, all smiles and laughter.

Not one of them looked back at me.

Only when their cars disappeared from view did I finally collapse against a tree-like my heart had

just been ripped out.

The bark scraped my skin, but that pain was nothing compared to the way my heart had been torn

wide open.

Carrie was always the one everyone adored. Ever since we were kids.

We were twins-but we were never equals.

When I had a fever, my brothers took her to the amusement park. When I spent my birthday alone,

she got gifts from the entire pack with my brothers at her side.

I crushed on Christian for ten years-he was my fated mate-but one look from her, and he rejected

me and kissed her hand instead.

I thought it was my fate-to be unloved, to be the forgotten placeholder.

Until she ran away from her own wedding.

Wearing a million-dollar gown, she eloped with an Omega and dragged two packs through the mud.

That night, my brothers announced I was their only sister from then on.

And that same night, Christian stumbled drunk into my room.
