The second those sounds blasted through everyone’s phones, the whole room went dead. Everyone knew exactly who 

that was-Claire and Grayson. 

“You little-what the hell is this?!” 

The Laurents and Harts weren’t nobodies on base. And now everyone just watched their daughter getting railed by some married guy. 

Mr. Laurent’s face turned purple. He swung back and cracked Claire across the face. 

“This how I raised you? To embarrass the whole family like this?!” 

Claire stumbled back, hand on her cheek, eyes wide. 

“Dad-no, wait-” 

They didn’t see this coming. The quiet wife who never said shit-me-didn’t show up to grovel. I blew their whole world up instead. 

Grayson’s first instinct? Throw me under the bus. 

“Hold on-Mr. and Mrs. Laurent-just listen-” 

He jumped between Claire and her dad, voice all shaky. 

“It’s fake, okay? My wife edited this. She’s trying to get back at us. I’ll drag Natalie here myself-she’ll apologize-” 

He pulled out his phone and started spam-calling me. 

I didn’t answer. I was watching the livestream on my friend’s Instagram, watching him spiral. 

Guess he really does love her.

His voice was cracking on the voicemail. 

I didn’t flinch. Just tapped my screen and hit send on round two. 

That photo Claire sent me. Every video I’d been hoarding for a year-her and Grayson doing body shots, waking up in the same bed, dry-humping at clubs while calling themselves “buddies.” 

I sent it everywhere. Everyone at the party. Both family group chats. Grayson’s base group. Claire’s work Slack. Twitter. Instagram. Facebook. TikTok. 

I wanted everyone to see what these two really were.

Every phone went off at once. Some people gasped. The old-timers looked ready to drop dead. 

Grayson’s boys finally lost it. 

“Bro-Grayson, Claire-the fuck is going on?” 

“Thought we were tight. You two been screwing around this whole time?” 

“Wait-so that girl selling flowers was telling the truth? You guys actually—” 

Questions were flying everywhere. Some angry. Some disgusted. Some just betrayed. 

“No-guys, hold up-it’s not what you think-” 

Claire went white and started grabbing people’s sleeves. But there was nothing to say. 

“You made a married dude bark like a dog. What’s there to explain?” 

One guy stepped back and looked at her like she had the plague.
