I shook hands with Thorne and then began heading back to the mansion.
I’d sent him a message to meet me at the pack’s borders immediately I’d stepped out of the mansion. The
warrior who’d interrupted my dinner with Sienna and Elias had informed me there was some unusual
activity going on at the border. The unusual activity had turned out to be some rogues circling the
perimeter.
Thorne and I, together with a few warriors, had waited for them to leave. It was extremely late and we
didn’t want to start up a fight we hadn’t prepared for. It had taken almost an hour, but eventually we’d
managed to get them to back off. I wasn’t sure whether or not their presence was related to Bruce and the
other asshole I’d ended up sending away from the pack, but either way, I knew we had to be on guard now.
I finally got to the mansion and immediately headed for Elias’s room, knowing Sienna would have already
tucked him into bed. His door creaked a little bit when I pushed it open, but the sound was enough to jolt
Sienna awake. “It’s me,” I said softly as I walked into the dimly lit room. She sat on a chair beside Elias’s
bed where he lay sleeping beneath the covers.
She touched her hand to her chest, bouncing her gaze between Elias and me and I could tell I’d startled her
for a sec. She ran her gaze over me and I shook my head slightly to let him know I wasn’t injured. I waited
for her to adjust Elias’s duvet and drop a soft kiss on his forehead before walking up to me. Unthinking, 1
curved my hand around her waist, leading her out of the room.
We both said nothing as I followed her down the hallway to her room. I paused at her door, unsure whether
or not to come in. I didn’t have to think about it for too long because she motioned me inside with a
movement of her fingers. I tucked my hands into the pockets of my sweatpants as she walked to lean
against her dressing table, pulling the silky robe she’d changed into, tighter to herself.
“I got a little scared when you didn’t show up after a few minutes,” She confessed.
I took a step closer to her. “I didn’t want us to get into a fight with the rogues hanging around the
perimeter. We had to scare them into leaving and wait it out to be sure they wouldn’t return,” I explained.
She nodded, adjusting her robe once more. I wondered if she kept adjusting it because she felt weirded by
my presence or if it was because she didn’t trust herself enough to not reach for me.

TORZY FRI, OCT 2
Chapter 75
A small sigh filled the room.
was going to ask you earlier…” She began quietly.
I arched an eyebrow at her. “Ask me?” I inquired, urging her on.
“I was hoping to gain your permission to rebuild the shacks,” She blurted out, folding her arms across my
chest. I drew my eyebrows together, trying to grasp her meaning.
Rebuild the shacks?
“You want to tear them down and reconstruct them?” I asked to be sure I actually understood her meaning.
Her eyes skidded away from mine for a second. “Well, not me per say. I wanted to have a few of the warriors do that,” She explained. I held her gaze, one question evident in my eyes.
Why?
Things were weird in the pack and we needed as much manpower as we could manage, ready to go to war if the need arose. Why was rebuilding the shacks so important to her? She cleared her throat, clearly seeing
the question in my gaze.
Her shoulder lifted in a not so casual shrug. “I would like to do something for them,” She confessed. Her green eyes collided with mine. “I know how it feels like living there,” I couldn’t help but wince at the reminder of how things had been between us in the beginning. “We both know the condition of the pack is less than standard and if this is the only thing I can do for as long as I’m here,” I grinded my jaws at her comment. For as long as she was here? “Then I would like to do it.” She finished.
She tilted her chin defiantly, as though she expected me to be against it.
A weird feeling settled into my chest at the realization that she wanted to do something for our people. Her people. Had I really thought mating with her would be the worst decision I would have ever made? 1 closed the distance between us, cupping her cheek in my hand. “If the Queen of Iron Fang pack has decided she intended to do something for people, who am I to say otherwise?” I whisper.
A look of relief crossed her face.
“Thank-”

Chapter 75
I didn’t let her finish. I covered her lips with mine, and it was the best feeling in the entire world. Dear
goddess, I loved kissing this woman. I slanted my head, gently pushing my tongue past her lips until she
gaye me access. The second our tongues touched, a moan escaped her. The sound went straight to my cock.
I pulled away from her. “You don’t need to thank me, Sienna,” I murmured in a hoarse whisper. “Whatever
it is you want, just say the word and it’s yours.”
And then I kissed her again.
And finally, finally, she kissed me back.
Her arm wrapped around my neck as she sank her fingers into my hair. Our tongues tangled and danced and waltzed. I cupped her ass, lifting her and gently placing her down on the dressing table. When her legs wrapped around my waist so tightly I could feel the heat of her pussy through my sweat, I all but lost it.
pace. She began grinding against me, slowly at first and then gently picking up her
It was everything I wanted, and yet I knew I could be rushing things if we had sex right now. She hadn’t forgiven me completely and I didn’t want her regretting whatever happened between us. I was going to earn her forgiveness. Until then, I would not have sex with her, no matter how much I wanted to. This time it was me pulling away. This time, it was me saying the words.
“We can’t.”
