LOGAN’S POINT OF VIEW

We were scheduled to have dinner at Sovereign Restaurant, located within Blackwood Pack-a powerful, high-ranking pack whose name carried weight across nearly every territory.
The evening was supposed to include a special performance as well, and judging by Blackwood’s reputation, I had no doubt it would be impressive.
The entire dinner had been Celine’s idea.
I hadn’t originally planned on bringing Ava along. The thought of spending an entire evening
pretending that everything between us was fine had been exhausting enough before I even considered
But Ava was my Luna.
At the very least, I should have invited her.
So I did.
And she refused outright.
“Logan, what did she say?”
Celine leaned closer to me, curiosity bright in her eyes.
I looked down at my phone again, my jaw tightening as Ava’s message remained on the screen.
~I’m not going. I went to Black Rose last night and drank too much. I need to catch up on sleep at my
new place.~
For a moment, I simply stared at the words.
Black Rose.
Of course, I knew exactly what Black Rose was.
It was one of those upscale clubs people talked about for days afterward, filled with expensive drinks, loud music, and people with far too much money and far too little sense.
Ava had gone there.
After everything that had happened, after all the trouble I had already gone through because of her, she had apparently decided that Green Fairy hadn’t been enough. No, Ava had to move on to

somewhere even more extravagant.
My fingers curled around my phone.
She is being careless, Fenrir growled inside me.
Careless didn’t begin to cover it.
She is the Luna of this pack.
I knew.
That was exactly what made it worse.

“What’s wrong, baby?” Celine asked softly, drawing my attention back to her. “You seem unhappy.”
I forced my expression to relax before slipping my phone into my pocket.
“Ava said she isn’t coming.”
Celine blinked. “Oh.”
“She wants to sleep.”
I didn’t explain further, and I certainly didn’t mention Black Rose.
The moment I said that name, I could already imagine the questions that would follow, and I had absolutely no patience for drama tonight. There was already too much weighing on my mind.
Besides, Ava had made her decision.
Why should I allow it to ruin my evening?
At least the trip to Blackwood Pack had another purpose.
If we were lucky enough to cross paths with their Alpha, it could be a major opportunity for Silvercrest. Blackwood had influence, resources, and connections that packs like ours could only dream of having.
And with our new project involving herbs, gaining the attention-or even the support-of someone
powerful within Blackwood could change everything.
It would be like hitting the jackpot.
The only problem was that their Alpha was notoriously difficult to meet.
People rarely saw him unless he wanted to be seen.
Still, how difficult could it really be?

“Logan.”
Celine’s voice interrupted my thoughts.
I looked at her.

“This dinner is practically an early celebration,” she said with a warm smile. “So don’t let anything upset you. We managed to convince Maeve Alder to collaborate with us. Do you know how rare that
is?”
Despite myself, my mood lifted slightly.
Celine’s excitement was infectious.
“From now on, Silvercrest is going to soar,” she continued. “We won’t just keep dreaming about becoming a high-ranking pack. We’re actually going to get there.”
I looked at her for a moment, then felt some of the tension in my shoulders ease.
“You’re right,” I said. “We shouldn’t let someone else spoil our mood.”
I reached over and patted her shoulder, and Celine’s face immediately brightened.
Fenrir remained quiet, though I could still feel his irritation simmering beneath the surface.
You are dismissing this too easily.
It’s one dinner, Fenrir.
It is not the dinner.
I ignored him.
A few days ago, Celine and I had been at odds with each other. Things between us hadn’t exactly been
pleasant, but she had managed to turn everything around by making a breakthrough in the project and
bringing me news I hadn’t expected.
。
Maeve Alder-the mysterious genius whose knowledge of herbs was spoken about almost like legend
-had agreed to work with Silvercrest.
That alone had shifted the atmosphere around the entire pack.
For the first time in a long time, people were excited.
Hope had returned.
And I couldn’t deny that Celine had been responsible for it.

Sometimes, I wondered if she truly did bring me good fortune.
The thought came with an unpleasant reminder.

The night I had gone through so much trouble to bring Ava back, I had somehow ended up spending
three million in a single night.
Three million.
Even now, the memory made something painful twist in my chest..
After finally getting Ava home, more problems had followed at the packhouse, as though bringing her
back had opened the door to one disaster after another.
Then there was Celine.
Within what felt like no time at all, she had managed to win over Maeve Alder.
I couldn’t help comparing the two.
With Ava, there always seemed to be another problem waiting around the corner.
With Celine, something good had actually come out of the chaos.
Currently, the entire pack was supporting the new project. I had put every other project on hold and
redirected most of our available funds toward it. It was a risk, but if Maeve’s expertise was truly as valuable as everyone believed, the reward would be worth it.
During the celebration banquet, I made sure to praise everyone who had worked overtime to get the project moving. By the end of the night, though, nearly everyone was praising Celine.
She had become the center of the celebration.
The project hadn’t generated a single coin yet, but as I watched the pack members laughing and speaking excitedly about the future, I found myself agreeing that Celine had been right about holding
the banquet.
For once, Silvercrest felt united.
After the dinner, the executives gradually returned home, leaving the packhouse quiet again.
Later, Celine joined me in the passenger seat of my car.
We had spent some private time together earlier, and now she rested comfortably beside me, looking entirely pleased with herself. I leaned back in my seat, feeling more relaxed than I had all day.
“Baby,” she said sweetly, turning toward me. “I finally got that herb genius on our side. Aren’t you

going to reward me?”
My smile faded.
Of course.
Money.
I rubbed a hand over my face.
The truth was, I had been running low lately.

Between the necklace, compensation for the damaged ornaments, wine, and several other expenses, the savings my mother had carefully put aside for me had been disappearing far faster than I wanted
to admit.
After Ava emptied my savings account, I had somehow managed to put some money away again.
And then, in just a few days, I had watched it disappear.
Now, I barely had anything left.
What remained was meant for our flight, dinner, and the trip to Sovereign Restaurant in Blackwood.
When I explained that to Celine, her expression immediately tightened.
“What?” she asked. “How can that be?”
“It’s only five million, Celine,” I said, trying to keep my voice calm. “And once the new product is developed and launched, we should be able to cover the shortfall quickly.”
“Logan…”
I already knew that tone.
“Please,” she continued, shifting closer, “Take me and Anaya out.”
I closed my eyes briefly.
Fenrir gave a low, unimpressed growl inside me.
You have no money to waste.
I know.
Then stop agreeing to everything.
I opened my eyes and looked at Celine.

She was watching me with those pleading eyes, clearly hoping I would give in.
And, unfortunately, I did.
“Fine,” I said at last. “But this is a one-time thing. There won’t be a next time.”
Her entire face lit up.
“Really?”
“Yes.”
Celine immediately threw her arms around me, laughing softly.
“Thank you!”
I shook my head, unable to stop a small smile from appearing.
“Come on. Let’s go and start packing.”

“I can’t wait to go to Blackwood Pack!” she said excitedly. “I heard the pack is amazing. It’s huge and
“Yeah, yeah,” I interrupted with a small laugh.
The truth was, hearing her praise another pack made something uncomfortable settle in my chest. Silvercrest was my responsibility, and as much as I believed we were improving, we still had a long way to go before we could stand beside a pack like Blackwood without feeling the difference.
Celine either didn’t notice or chose not to mention it.
Instead, she smiled at me.
“I hope we get to meet the Alpha.”
1 started the car,
For the first time that evening, the thought made me forget my irritation with Ava, if only briefly.
“I hope so too,” I said.
Because if we did…
This trip might end up being far more important than any of us realized.
