Dad paused. “I told you-I didn’t have a chance to tell you.”

He had nothing to say. 

Mom snatched the phone back, furious. “Why are you digging up old grudges? Are you trying to kill us with 

stress?” 

Lily’s voice cracked through, tearful. “Sis, it’s all my fault. Please stop.” 

I felt drained. But also relieved. 

I’d finally said it. 

Exhaustion hit me again without warning. My wolf was growing weaker. Those fake displays of affection and fragile bonds were slowly disappearing. 

I hung up.
